The fact that you have to wait 3 days after spending real money on steam just to get the gold you paid for is why I will never spend money on this game again

People have said this again and again but AGS turns a blind eye to it. After the 20 item AH and market limit, people already suggested that. They never went back to change the old restrictions to be roster based or even bother to test it.

It was a very smart way for AGS to discourage us from spending money on their game.

G2g is cheaper and faster

lmao that’s a ban for sure.

They will know, eventually you traded with a bot and when the bot gets banned everyone who traded with said bot also gets banned.

I am sure they also have a system in place that flags your account when they see a random stranger just donates you over a million gold out of the blue

This is why you see so many people claiming they got banned for cheating, they don’t just consider 3rd party software cheating.

You don’t need to stop buying gold to solve that problem.

yep it was lazy of them to implement it and its just annoying to find out, unfortunately i spent money because i just wanted a skin thinking this wasnt a thing because i had quite a long break and was hit with it being withheld :))) very cool

I agree, if you acc is verified at least you should be able to use it right away at the AH. If its first purchase I can understand somehow but still if spend money in the game then it should available fully from the get go.

I’m sure the company that imposes “trade holds” lasting up to 15 days are gonna give a crap about a 3 day hold in a game published on their platform… Let’s be realistic.

and the 72 hours hold is certainly not arbitrary… this is from Microtransactions (In-Game Purchases) (Steamworks Documentation)

*Catching fraudulent transactions before they can impact the economy is important.

  • Steam catches most fraudulent transactions within 48 hours of the initial purchase. Call the GetReport() API at least once each day to reconcile changes to transactions according to their updated status.

  • You should prevent trading or gifting of the newly purchased items for at least 72 hours from the time of purchase. This will not impact the majority of your players since most players will use funds and items purchased for themselves while fraudsters must move their fraudulent goods to profit.*

So let’s not pretend that Valve “doesn’t know”, they’re probably the ones who gave AGS the idea in the first place and AGS is just following their recommendations.

Wait I already have to do this with my bank, verify on the app and sms code.
But then why can’t I get my gold early

You gonna have to ask AGS for that XD

Why flagged? most logical comment here

how?
please dont talk about things you dont really know :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

Social engineering, the “I forgot my X” feature or numerous other ways. Your above suggestion about “using the banking app” invalidates the convenience of services like paypal too.

Please don’t talk about things you don’t really understand.

Taking your stuff not being worth the risk/hassle does not mean it’s “safe”.

what it would give them in case where you need to get SMS code to log in?
they would have to call each time to US from wherever they are and use “sociall enginering” to just access game
if it would be even posiblle to do something more than change phone number this way
phone number that have unique Country code prefix required to be properly used

could you quote me on that? im pretty sure you are talking about someone else comment that i havent even seen
although other publishers use tokens and sms verification without hassle
it dont have to be on each login, could just trigger on new device and more often on suspicious accounts

how they could reliably bypas mobile authentication on big scale?
i can tell you already that spoofing wont work and im 90% sure that he was been thinking about

we are talking about thousands of accounts managed by rather small group of ppls
so yea technically its posible like cloning someones sim card, but its not that easy and you would want to target specyfic person with specyfic amount of moneys to use those methods

you could do much more intresting things with that kind of access than boting a game :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

well if its not safe you should contact banks asap cause they use those methods with success for years now

I didnt get banned
get your meds

It’s a fact that SG is heavily understaffed and add to that AGS relies on SG to do everything, I’m not suprised they just went with the fastest and easiest solution.

apparently there were refunds being made after making purchases of skins after selling them
causing false bans when those refunds would be initiated

and you’d say but why ban the buyer if the seller is doing the scam
because get this
you can make a different steam account
purchase the skin
sell it to yourself
refund the skin

so they had to ban both
and one thing you want to avoid really badly
is to get normal players banned for using the AH as it was intended

I don’t really know how the 3day waiting period prevents this kind of thing but i think in korea they also have this waiting period for selling
unless i’m completely wrong but i’ve seen zeals sit on sellable skins for quite a long period and only post a few at a time

The core problem is how easy it is to create a steam account + instant access to Lost Ark and there’s no way to know if they have plans to make the process more intricate.

yup

as long as the there is no ID verification either on steam or when linking it to your LA account bots will remain

Everyone stop feeling the troll. He’s just making stuff up as he goes along and has been proven wrong with Steam’s own T&C.
