Somewhere between:
“We feel like players want total control over their item colors, if they want any control at all.”
and
“The technology simply doesn’t exist.”

I think it might be “The intent is to provide players with a sense of pride and accomplishment for paying to dye each channel.”
No transmog is also weird because why put all that work into designing armor sets if once you outlevel them you don’t get to look at them anymore? Such a waste of assets.
Big agree here as well.
I don’t think it does. When he chose blue for area 1 it turns the skirt and tie, which are areas 2 & 3, white.
I’m guessing as a streamer he’s avoided saying this, as it’s a negative part of the game. Never seen anything like this in a game dye system before, even for other Korean games. I doubt they will fix it or change it to suit western players but I guess we can hope.
I don’t mind paying for dyes in games at all, it’s a bit archaic and would be better in the aura tbh, like with other games. I’ll never buy the aura just for bifrost points, it doesn’t really benefit me enough. A system that makes an already paying feature worse however just makes the experience feel bad. On top of AGS limiting or removing dye options from some items at all, they’re really not catering to/promoting these features for the people who actually spend money on cosmetics.
I’d rather buy a dyable outfit and then spend £20 a month on the aura, to change all this stuff, than on blue crystals or dye for free and feel ripped off by the weird limiting system.
I’m not sure if this is AGS or Smilegate’s doing honestly, probably Smilegate.
Either way, it sucks ass.
Daily “This still bothers me every single time I log in” bump.
I have to say I not a fan of the “Dying It ALL White Even If You Just Want To Change One Color” methodology currently being used either.
Basically this makes me want to not dye ANYTHING, because dying ONE thing messes up everything else.
Just my opinion on the matter.
Seems like just another shady business practice. Or perhaps a dev will respond and say, “This shouldn’t have happened!” But I’m sure, as many are, this was intentional to make some more quick bucks for cosmetics. Let’s play the waiting game for the response.
IF we get one ![]()
Yeah this is 100% to make you buy more reagents. Honestly this game has lots of ‘gotchas!’ with things I’m already spending money on and frankly leaves a bad taste in my mouth
This.
I understand they don’t have full hands on control over Lost Ark Korea’s decisions…
But I still feel cheated ![]()
I like most of the low level armors and weapons better than these “cloned” skins, even some of the Korean released skins (which will be most likely edited for NA) not really that interesting. Love the transmog & glamour system in other games, just feels like a huge step back with skins…This current forced-white dye system is a joke plain simple. Sadly it’s all about the money as usual.
I was looking for a thread like this. I’m not going to scream the world is ending or that this is a tactic to get more money from us. I’m looking at this from a way that they can make improvements to the dyeing system in the game. I like the fact white dye is free, but would be great if it wasn’t forced on all dye channels when you only want to dye one. Here is hoping they make improvements to the dyeing system because this system is one way we players can show our personalities in game. ![]()
Side note: I lol’d at the “Why must this woman coat everything she isn’t paid to touch in primer?” xD
This. The game is just a blood sucker and no nice words on “our future plans” mean anything.
Imagine deciding you want the front door of your house painted blue to match your blue siding, and you hire someone to come paid your door blue, and they’re like “no problem, $10” and you hand them $10 and they paint that door blue but they also paint your entire house white.
You’re like “hey, I didn’t want the house to be white, I just wanted the door to be blue!” and they’re like “no worries man, it’s on the house.”
ON THE HOUSE
hahahaha
dyeing in this game is obviously another whale exclusive feature designed to milk every last dollar out of the player
“This is still a stupid problem” bump
Aaaand still ! bump
Its not just awkward, its predatory. Its basically so you must dye everything which will obviously cost more.
I also agree with the color blindness thing, double sucks for me because of it.
