I have to say I not a fan of the “Dying It ALL White Even If You Just Want To Change One Color” methodology currently being used either.
Basically this makes me want to not dye ANYTHING, because dying ONE thing messes up everything else.
Seems like just another shady business practice. Or perhaps a dev will respond and say, “This shouldn’t have happened!” But I’m sure, as many are, this was intentional to make some more quick bucks for cosmetics. Let’s play the waiting game for the response.
Yeah this is 100% to make you buy more reagents. Honestly this game has lots of ‘gotchas!’ with things I’m already spending money on and frankly leaves a bad taste in my mouth
This.
Had to pay to name change a character I wanted to delete to use in a different server when testing the game day 1.
PowerPass, without warning, auto completed all story related roster quests and my new char bumped to after Shushire, not Vern like it was explained.
Now this dye system.
I understand they don’t have full hands on control over Lost Ark Korea’s decisions…
But I still feel cheated
I like most of the low level armors and weapons better than these “cloned” skins, even some of the Korean released skins (which will be most likely edited for NA) not really that interesting. Love the transmog & glamour system in other games, just feels like a huge step back with skins…This current forced-white dye system is a joke plain simple. Sadly it’s all about the money as usual.
I was looking for a thread like this. I’m not going to scream the world is ending or that this is a tactic to get more money from us. I’m looking at this from a way that they can make improvements to the dyeing system in the game. I like the fact white dye is free, but would be great if it wasn’t forced on all dye channels when you only want to dye one. Here is hoping they make improvements to the dyeing system because this system is one way we players can show our personalities in game.
Side note: I lol’d at the “Why must this woman coat everything she isn’t paid to touch in primer?” xD
Imagine deciding you want the front door of your house painted blue to match your blue siding, and you hire someone to come paid your door blue, and they’re like “no problem, $10” and you hand them $10 and they paint that door blue but they also paint your entire house white.
You’re like “hey, I didn’t want the house to be white, I just wanted the door to be blue!” and they’re like “no worries man, it’s on the house.”
This is really annoying, I now have 130 pattern reagents and 90 shiny reagents, but 0 dye since everytime I want to change one single color I have to use 30…
I can just about imagine the meetings they had at Smilegate trying to come up with all the elaborate ways and currencies to implement.
Every normal person would just take a dye system from a popular game and use it. SG add two hard to obtain currencies to it and make the system so convoluted that you have to Google how to use it on your first time.
