My point is that in an alt friendly game, you have to spend your earned F2P gold just to be able to buy something on a market that charges upwards 15 Pheons with a gold tax ontop of it.
AND the items can only be traded up to 3 times total. This is not any sort of normal market regulation. There is a point to this system and it is to entice people to spend money.
Of course you don’t have to spend money. You just spend the gold you need to hone.

I am indeed not in favour of pheons being used in trading items for your alt.
I’ve never seen this type of market regulation item in any game that I’ve ever played. It was never really necessary to regulate the market like this.
I was hoping that they’d just remove pheons and keep the trade x amount of times rule so that the market can never be flooded anyways. I mean… When I look for specific accessories on multiple characters, there are times when there is either NOTHING on the market or like an option of up to 3 of them.
I agree with you here. I feel like this is some sort of huge oversight, an unnecessary safety mechanism, or just hey why not? More pheons used, the better!
The prices are not that expensive. BiS DPS accessories are cheap because there are a lot of DPS mains. Support accessories are expensive on the other side because only a few players’ main supports.
With pheons, this prevents DPS mains to hop into the support accessories market and manipulate the prices.
I’d like to see developer comment on that to be sure that is one of the reasons as to why this system exists.
Hardly anyone is already buying those accessories if they’re already this expensive WITH the pheon system. It’s too hard to say if DPS mains will go after support accessories and jack them all up. They are the ones sitting in raid finder 24/7 asking for “sup” after all.
I can not gear my alts effectively at all. Im down to 160 pheons after 2 characters as f2p. Relic items take 25 pheons each. Im the kind of person who doesnt like to have unoptimized characters. Or at least not optimized to a passable point. I hate that my 3rd character doesnt even have 2 max engravings because i get shit drops (no joke, i got 18 accessories yesterday and not one had the main stat i use forget the engravings on them). And yet, i have 3 accessories i could use on that character just chilling in my mains bank but cant afford to use the pheons to trade them to him because i will need them to buy gear for my main. Lol…

agreed and same. i have zero pheons (rip) because I didnt realize such an insane concept was at work. i guess I saw it on the fine print of the transaction page but i was way more focused on optimizing and gold cost than anything. whatever this isnt fun.
if to regulate the market, then why does it affect accessory trading on the same roster? it’s a total crackpot. you’re letting the half baked reason brainwash your idea. the market prices are already high for bis items. theorycrafting that they would go higher is absurd. i see purple t3 necks listed for 5k. whale, prob.
imo the options are,
- hugely increase pheon acquisition in game (atm it’s dismal, im waiting for day XX of this month login award)
- remove them completely
- come up with something more logical
Yeah, i got lucky and i was watching zeels in a stream and he mentioned not to waste them.
But in order to not waste them, you have to be constantly rolling accessory drops and hope you get what you’re looking for within a month.

which is a trash strategy when you have cringe lobby hosts in guardians raids looking for people 1300+ with 3/3/3 for tytalos.
amazing point.

It isn’t that hard to get accessories, correct. It’s just incredibly hard to get everything just right.
A Wardancer with First Intention build requires Swift/Crit and good engravings to still barely be able to keep up with a class that can have messed up stats and less engravings. Being mana starved means that you need Conviction/Judgement, food, or MP efficiency engraving.
This is just one example of a class that feels instantly better when you’re able to put forth a little gold to get some accessories to make life easier… or to even make the class feel playable! xD
Ofc, i could have 3 3 3 1 on my paladin, but i wouldnt have any swiftness and thats worse than being 3 3 with full swiftness. But with limited pheons, you cant afford to buy mediocre gear on your main. Forget even contemplating it on an alt.
Same conversation, different day, different thread. At this point they can just remove them as i am tired of trying to explain what they are here for, i do agree they should be reworked a bit but if we just going to keep spamming the forum with the same topic instead of using one thread i will advocate for them to remove them. If their is negative effects i hope they do not revert them at this point. Have a good discussion for the 40th day in a row i will step out now.
