The real reason why AGS won't fix the bots issue

The only reason why they are doing NOTHING about bots is because they are USING the numbers to sell it to their stock holders:

Lost Ark, the free-to-play multiplayer online game, exceeded 20 million global users and became the second-highest
played title of all time by peak concurrent players on the distribution platform Steam. Published by Amazon Games in
Australia, Europe, Latin America, New Zealand, and North America, the critically acclaimed game was developed by
Smilegate RPG.

You are a marketing genius.

Btw when LA became the second-highest played game on Steam there were no bots yet.

Just because they haven’t been able to effectively quash the bots doesn’t mean they aren’t trying. Anyone who’s played MMOs for any amount of time could’ve seen this coming well in advance.

Being able to inflate player numbers does not in any way make up for the damage to the health and reputation of the game that bots cause.

I dont need to use the search button cause I was playing the game when it got that peak.

But stick to the point u think a company would let the bots free roam on a game to inflate numbers thinking nobody would notice about it

Yes many game have bots but not at this scale. It is ridiculous:

It is out of control because the lack of action and the only explanation is that they wanted to include it as a big seller.

Listen if you don’t believe me just look at new world and look what their overlord had to said about it.

When we know the kind of trash that new world is.

Also for those that say “they are working on it” Just look at this thread:

This user provided not only the information and the evidence AND reported the user and he is STILL ROLLING.

Are you delusional or stupid? There have been bots since day 1.

Because shareholders and investors are too ignorant to understand anything other than numbers. It’s easy to sell a false positive narrative until things crash and burn.

And yet almost everything those people were raising concerns over ended up being true…

The point is that Amazon does not own the game. It looks you and ot didnt notice that.

And probably you know what happens when you dont take care of something that dont belong to you.

yep in reality they just dont care that much about bots, it give them massive players count boost and popularity, and sometimes they will pretend that they care and doing something to try to deal with it like banning vpn

i think it is still wise for AGS to wait until the next maintenance patch, since they will gather more informations about anything wrong with the server and the game, unless there’s a massive server crash like a few weeks ago

some of that reason is probably this : https://steamdb.info/app/1599340/graphs/

players come and go, they raise and lower the player number. botters stay 24/7 so they maintain the player number steady and high.

.
and it successfully make LA on the top 5 popular game on steam :

that’s a very good advertising from my point of view.

Bruh there were no bots when we hit the peak players lmao but yeah rn we have a big bot problem

Not only is this wrong, but even if you were right, it’s meaningless.

With this logic, OW2 is the most watched game in the world. Technically it was true, for a few hours. But so what? It was only popular because of the hype and the twitch drops, then everyone realized it was the same shit and left. Same thing with Lost Ark.

Hype is only good for marketing, which AGS doesn’t even utilize well.

“Bruh”, you really think people didn’t already have Lost Ark bots prepared from the KR/RU/JP clients? Week 1, there were tons of bots everywhere, they were just diluted by actual players.

“Bruh” ofc not. You are now speculating based on literally nothing, there is no evidence of bots at the release day so calm your conspiracy theories… or you know what? keep going it’s funny to read lol

Oh, sorry! I’m a big fan Mr. Bezos, I didn’t know this was your Lost Ark account! Can I have 100,000 bucks? Please? I’ll spend a little bit of it on honing materials.
