The real reason why AGS won't fix the bots issue

and also cant buy skins from AGS cause there are none kappa

why would they need to? They get gold from gold selling bots. Buy skins from AH at a better price than cash shop. Also much cheaper to buy it from gold sellers. Literally 90% of the items they need can be bought with gold on the AH especially mats. Even crystals can buy crystalline aura and some skins, mats and pots.

That’s a very ballsy statement to make Roxx, especially since big corps have done much worse to actually sell the shareholders a good story. I uh…wouldn’t necessarily be quick to jump in front of that bullet. Absolutes like this could come back to bite you in terms of credability.

I know it’s your job as a CM to communicate but this is the kinda thread that’s smart to just ignore.

Why, because the op clearly has it out for Amazon? Does anyone here even have a technical background and understand how difficult combating bots are in a game as large and complex as lost ark? You fix one loophole, they WILL find another. Everyone who believes it’s a simple light switch that gets turned off is an idiot.

Yeah and then they lost over 50% of the actual player base in less than 2 months lol

Lol. What game are you playing?

I can agree with it is difficult to combat bots. However, it isnt difficult to find numerous ways to slow down bots at an effective rate. Let’s take analogy of fixing wound as fixing bots issue.
We dont have the supply or good ways to fix a large wound cause we have no bandages and only band-aids. However, there is many different band-aids like band-aids with quality from 10 as the best with all kind of features like alcohol or germ killing spray on it to 1 which is an infected band-aid that makes the wound worse. Therefore, the only way to cover this wound is needing multiple good effective and good quality band-aids.
Therefore so far the band-aids we got for bot prevention issues are about 4. However, we only got 3 slightly above average quality band-aids at the quality of 4-6 and the last band-aid is at 1, which actually made the wound worse.

Yeah so so complex and difficult that lots of other MMOs don’t have a BOT problem anywhere near this level.

Their actions don’t really support what they claim. They blocked VPNs under the guise of “fighting bots!” but all its done is create issues for players who never even used a VPN and bots have never been worse. One person earlier posted an image of a 70000 person queue. 70000!

Amazon also refuses to acknowledge the fact that there are issues with whatever way they “Blocked VPNs,” despite the support forums being flooded with people claiming that they can’t connect over their ISP and don’t use a VPN. Or they can only connect using a mobile hotspot etc.

The fact is the bots are evolving, or just adapting while Amazon tries to implement things that hurt their real players so the result is real players can’t connect/play while bots get to ruin the game even further.

The simple starting solution is you hire a group of admins to go around and manually ban bots until you can figure out more permanent changes. You also permanently ban RMT buyers to make a statement and to spread fear amongst the community who may be buying from bots.

Every player should be very weary of Amazon’s recent actions regarding VPN blocks. No communication. No warning. No discussion. No acknowledgement or working toward fixing the collateral issues that their decision has caused. All while using a simple deflection of “Well its in our TOS!”

What will they do next that will harm their players and then say “Oh well! Its also in our TOS!”

and anyone who doesn’t think corporate will use it to their advantage in the mean time is an idiot. Can’t speak to the tech side but I can the business end. Hence my comment.

“But not at this scale”

Someone didn’t see WoW botting where trains of 100th’s of bots in the same spot all just farm mobs for drops lmao.

Why would you pay for seeing bot trains, if you can see them for free in Lost Ark?

Objection: Speculation

The Boomkin bot dance parties? lol

Idk. But people seem to think that this is a “large scale issue” that you “don’t see anywhere else” which is not true. All MMOs or games that have potential to make money in one way or another have bot issues on scales like this it just varies on how lucrative it is. Also people should blame clowns who buy RMT botted gold for bots being in the game instead of AGS for trying to get rid of them.

P.S. Personally I think if they can 100% confirm that the gold was bought through RMT and from bots they should just perma ban the people who buy it on the first offense instantly instead of temp suspension every time.

So, you basically just try to defend Lost Ark, while derailing the issue with talking about other games…

What a disappointment.

Yeah, not like AGS/SG want to sell gold themselves to milk whales dry, which is the main reason why the systems allowing for this business to drive, in the first place.

The real reason why amazon won’t fix bots is they can’t  bots and mmo goes hand in hand since mmos started. And are you seriously that stupid to think AGS doesn’t want to get rid off bots that steals away from their gold sales and profit? Anyway why would a random player even care about bots anyway, game is designed in such way that they don’t get in a way, plus since the AGS sells gold too you should be happy there is competition in gold selling to keep AGS in check. This forum is riddled with low IQ opinions…

Ah i figured out why your bothered with bots, you either saw some streamer talk about bots or saw some random bots running around and for no logical reason your like, BOTS BAD meeeeehhh.

How is it keeping AGS in check, when the RC rates are fixed, and the exchange prices are player driven?

If anything at all, it drives players to buy even more RMT, because the exchange rates dropped so badly!

Defend? Personally I don’t even care about the bots. They don’t impact MY gameplay in ANY way. If they spam my whispers I just report and block them, that’s it. I focus on playing my own game. Why would I care about a train of Berserkers running around when I KNOW that I won’t see them in my parties in Dungeons and Raids ever. Maybe if you stopped caring about dumb stuff you’d be enjoying the game more.

If you ever make it to T3 and run out of gold for honing, which I doubt, you will see how they impact the game.
