It is a widely known and accepted fact in the community that the most tedious and least popular part of this game is the story. Playing it requires you to mindlessly spam the G key until you reach some kill quest and move on. I understand the effort put into the cutscenes and characters the developers want you to see the story through… and then I see they understand the quest is tedious and not a fun or engaging part of creating an alternate character.
In comes “Knowledge Transfer” a function so genious I can only give it praise, and did for the first week or two while I worked on alts. I mean it is a good gold sync, it is a time gap for alts, it allows you to skip redundant content so you dont quit the game playing the generic Yorn quest 7 times… wha a great idea…
However imagine my disappointment when I went to knowledge transfer my second alt over Yorn and ran into a semi cryptic menu saying I did not meet the requirements after grinding the gear up and having the gold required. I found that there is a requirement for every 1 character you skip, you are then forced to repeat the quest chain… the 4 hour long, boring, mindless, G spamming garbage we were all so relieved to be past is now a “payment” for each knowledge transfer.
Now I cannot possibly understand how the genius that dreamed up knowledge transfer, somehow decided to drop their IQ 100 points and cut the simplest cleanest part of the game to date in half to force redundant obnoxious questing in a game so reliant on alts and gear grinding I have friends that quit because they couldn’t stomach the quest line the first time much less multiple times… but however it came to be, and in not so many words, its garbage.
Take the quest requirement limits off knowledge transfer it is a whip crack of annoying BS shoehorned into a skip process to attempt to extend the lifespan of content that was dead on arrival, I cannot be more clear or concise. If you keep the quest requirements in this game when almost none of the western audience engages with the tired dumpster fire of a story, this game will lose players faster than new world.
Pay attention to your audience, stop trying to force the story, nobody cares.
