Let’s say that it is a lie. What would that change? Perhaps the devs should actually lie and write the chance smaller than it really is to make people feel better about failing.

I think some people don’t know how these systems work, so when it doesn’t go their way there must be something wrong with them. It can’t be random! It can’t be luck! There’s no such thing!

Until you start failing every attempt when you’re on that last item to get to 1100 and only get enough honing materials daily for a single attempt, I don’t want to hear it
I hate to say it, but possibly honestly just super unlucky attempts. I’ve gotten three upgrades, in a row, at 40% successful with no breath’s or books. And I’ve also had multiple fails at the 80% range. Just is what it is.
