It’s kind of ridiculous that they chose to hide it and the censorship is dumb, but I highly doubt he is innocent. In my opinion, the permanent ban should have stuck.
I think they are doing a favor by doing that, because if you guys keep pushing, AGS eventually will show the logs.
The permanent bans aren’t really even permanent bans if you’ve looked around. This isn’t a special case for Alan.
All the bans that claim they are permanent are only a few months to a few years - some being 5 to 8 years. You just have to request data.
Regarding Alan, he most likely did RMT at one point as his story doesn’t make sense. Why is he the only one banned out of all the team members?

I just don’t get why they changed the ban from “cheating” to “harassment”… some people had their theories but it still doesn’t make any sense.

Everyone’s permanent ban is like that. It states permanent in game but if you ask for data it gives you a date
Also strange that I have seen emails where people are banned for RMT and they specifically state the amount of gold you got and say you (cheated - real money transaction - bought) in the heading.
But Alan’s latest post from AGS doesn’t mention RMT or economy abuse at all, just explains that harassing players and being toxic is wrong.
Almost makes one think he wasn’t actually banned for RMT and maybe he was actually mass reported for harassment. He (or his group) advertised the 500k hell mode valtan bus in saintones discord without his permission.
Or maybe he actually RMT’ed himself. Or maybe he accepted that 500k and it was flagged as RMT gold. We probably won’t ever find out unless Alan gets unbanned or releases more screenshots from his initial ban email (which may have included the RMT allegation).

Yes. If you receive over a certain number of reports for harassment/toxicity you get banned by the automated system.
There was a thread a couple weeks ago on here from a player that alleged an opposing guild mass reported him following a gvg event and he got banned. Can’t be 100% sure it’s true and he wasn’t lying but most games have this type of automated ban system if you receive over some certain threshold of reports.
It doesnt matter if he is the only one got banned and not the whole team.
We wanted to know why he got 8months only instead of permanent ban. While others appealed and still perma after multiple appeals.
Also why the thread was deleted. Are they trying to hide something?

Yep, some guy on discord was mass reported by bots and got banned LOL (He was killing bots in a PVP island).
But support removed his ban.

People are talking about mass reporting in the new world forums right now. I guess since both games share the same moderation department they would have similar issues.
Yeah, former New World player, I’ve seen it happen in 4k.
Imagine taking time to kill bots and getting banned for it. What’s going on at AGS?

You must not be familiar with the system
There are tons of players who RMT millions and don’t have a permanent ban. They only get months to years depending on how much was purchased.
The thread was deleted because there was no point to keeping the thread. Amazon can’t respond to bans because that info is kept confidential
It’s still worth while for players to discuss and advocate for changes.

Because it’s targeted to a specific player which they don’t allow on these forums.
Hence why screenshot of players with names tend to removed.
