Someone took the bid with less than 2 seconds left on the time while I was looking at something else.
I considered that too but didn’t want to jump to conclusions on a bot or ah script etc. But who knows nowadays? Even when I played the game, I never tried bidding tbh. Never had a chance of getting it.
that’s how bidding works yes. the last few seconds don’t take your eye away.

It also means that item’s bidding time was extended multiple times already.
I’ve been bidding on items that gets the time extended to 5 mins repeatedly until.it gets to a point where there are no more extensions and is race for that last second and ping to bless you
It’s a poorly designed system. It should double the min bid increment each time it delays for anti-snipe so it resolves in a reasonable time instead of just giving up on anti-snipe. The market is a collection of poorly designed systems, really. Whoever made it was not the best. Like they couldn’t figure out how to handle tax on inexpensive items so “5%” might be as small as 0% or as large as 50%. They could have just used RNG to assign the fractional part so it averaged to 5%.

Timer get extended by 5 mins. At least last time I was in bid war!
Depends on how many bids coming in. There’s a tooltip that tells you how often it changes. It goes from 5min extension per bid to 1min extensions to no extensions. It’s to prevent people from draggin a bid for say 30min after the expiration time.
