Gonna echo @kinosira and say thanks for the responses. Just gonna add a bit of feedback of my own on honing.
Failing feels bad; and it feels worse the lower the failure chances. It would be nice if there was a (F2P accessable, but it can go in the cash shop as well) way to push every hone to 100%, either throguh increased stone+leap stone costs, removing the Breath cap, or some entirely new resource. It’s fine if it takes the same amount of time to do a guaranteed hone as to gamble through several attempts, and it’s fine if it’s a choice between gambling and forcing. But feeling like the only thing holding you back is RNG is terrible, and I certainly know a few people who are thinking of quitting over it.
Also, please make a tradable/purchasable version of base T3 gear (even if it doesn’t have Tripod levels on it); having had bad luck and not getting a full set from my Chaos Dungeons is currently holding mmy main in a limbo between Tiers…
I’m actually willing to bet that’s not true. Mattjestic actually did an interesting video where he simulated the rates of upgrading with billions of simulations and published the video 2 days ago. +13 to +15 takes about 200-300k gold worth of materials (depends on the market rate on your region of course) even if you supply all the leapstones, shards and have bound rate up mats you are using.
Even if you had all that and didn’t need to buy leapstones which you probably would have to that’s still far more than 100€ will buy you in gold or on Mari’s.
If you go buy gold from a gold seller you would get 200k with 100€ for sure.
If you use the ingame gold exchange then it would certainly be less (maybe 50-80k depending on the rate). If I would use the 100€ then I’d use that on Mari’s shop and not to buy gold. That wouldn’t be instant access to the mats but it would give me way more mats in the end. That together with the daily activities and the gold you earn daily/weekly would certainly get me to 1370 very quickly.
That is because it is currently being reworked with our devs at Smilegate RPG to make sure it supports where our players are in terms of progress and gameplay. When we have it all locked in we’ll share as much info as we can.
There is an issue with this though. Tomorrow the data will change. Waiting too long, players will be leaving, thus changing the data further. I was a massive advocate for this game. Hell, still love this game a ton, but went from being in a strong community to a solo player with people dropping like flies. Now I’m at the point to think should I start playing Elden Ring, or tough this out. I’m a one game at a time player, so if that were to happen, I know I will fall behind so much that I most likely wouldn’t return.
Not returning would mean a couple of things: Hardcore buyer’s remorse, and hundreds of hours lost.
Basically, the takeaway is this, time is precious and if you keep changing or delaying, it will be too late.
I think a lot of ppl have a misconception of where the line starts for a whale and how much it cost to access Argos right now.
As a player who own Plat, Gold, and Silver founders pack, and someone who has purchased most of the skins. I’ve already spent a good chunk of money in this game since launch ($500 +) Mostly for skins, una completion, honor badges, etc. progression wise i was still clean (depends on how you define it i guess). This does not include how much i’ve spent this weekend.
I have 460 hrs in game as of today and @ lv 54 combat, and this is because I was so demoralized over the weekend from honing otherwise i would’ve been a lot closer to 500. (for better for worse)
I was at ilvl 1355 when I was fed up and decided to p2w, or well pay 2 access argos raid. However, $600 later, I am still no where close to 1370. If I want to get to 1370, it will probably cost another $600 +. (Note: I might be one of the unlucky few who has not had any success in honing. I’ve failed to the end on every single item)
I could do it, but to what end? Do i have to spend $1k + each month to access the latest content? While I am not one of those who spent 10 + k and have 600 hrs in game, but I don’t think i am that casual.
Why is spending over 1k in game and with over 450 hrs in game since feb not enough for me to access the latest content? Is this wall realistic going forward?
I’m not going to buy my progression in the game and expect AGS/SG to actually provide reasonable progression instead of W2P and luck-based gambling mechanics. Sadly that’s not the case atm and I will be leaving when Aura runs out. Might be back if the game actually becomes better when it comes to the progression. I’ts not for my lack of playing the game that is the issue. It’s the lack of balanced progression and quality from AGS/SG.
I bought the Platinum pack, vanquisher pack, and the omen pack (the 20$ one). Thats all Ive spent. I’ve supported the game much more than most support games. I love the game itself. This greed, no.
If it isnt substantially easier to get from 1340-1370 within the next content patch, Im done. And even if it is substantially easier, it better be much easier to go 1370-1415 (1370-1415 should not and better not be as difficult as 1340-1370 is now).
If these changes aren’t in, speaking for myself, Im done with the game. Im not spending hundreds or a thousand just to progress. I shouldnt have to. And I don’t have it in me, after currently 340 hours played, to grind another 340 hours for the materials needed. And we can point the finger at Amazon because the game isnt like this in KR/RU. I’ll also never buy another amazon game again.
The next 3-5 weeks will be very telling on the future of the game. I hope they are cooking up a really good catchup mechanic.
These are exactly my thoughts I’ve just never been able to express them this eloquently. Game is fun on many aspects but if one of your goals is getting to T3 and participating in end game content (and not just keep collecting seeds) then at one point you start realising that it’s simply not worth your time. The game don’t respect the effort you put in and the 10% honing chance coupled with no sources of materials just highlights that.
If they’re expecting everyone to just swipe then they clearly don’t know human psychology. I might buy some skins and I will probably buy the aura but I will never buy upgrade materials only to burn them in an infinite loop of failures.

I’m 1073 and the honing rates already feel bad. I’ve progressed 6GS over the last 5 days. I don’t want to imagine what it’s like in T3.
Aaah what a perfect day to respond to your company’s bs. Of course no one knows the clear decision maker and no I won’t buy into your statement of SMG being the big boys here.
Gold River has stated your company has made errors 3 times in decision making, and that sets me off as a customer the wrong way due to your stupid company’s blatant switching of information and being misleading.
Unless you goons can come up with some clear transparency with SMG devs like LOA ON or ffxiv’s live letters, then MAYBE I’d be a bit forgiving.

Yeah I honestly buy into the AGS bad and SMG good meme, you even said it yourself that many ppl fall for it but really it’s presenting itself clear as day.
You must be really lucky if your time is enough to get to 1370 because I have spent at least 10-15 hours a day on this game since the headstart and still am only 1355 without spending money.
Amazon or smilegate whoever yall f… up big time … smilegate has released this game in 3 regions already and amazon just failed the ONLY BIG GAME THEY MADE IN 10 YEARS … how you manage to have amazon to fund you and not make 1 good game in 10 years let alone just publish lost ark its so beyond me , like i said plenty times i had zero hopes for this game from the moment i saw the annoying censoring of skins , btw you had from august 2020 to prepare for this …GOOD ONE
how many alts u got how many alts are pumping gold/mats to your main what are u spending 10-15 a day doing
my main is tops 1 week away from 1370 and this is after i spent a week selling mats when i just hit T3
and right before the announcement and price hike i sold another 40-50k worth of mats
I wouldn’t say I’m lucky heck within the friends I’m playing with we all played since headstead and I’m the last one hitting 1370 both of them are F2p grind gods tho

just to clarify i agree they should release more mats for us as 1340-1370 is a well known dead zone in KR different reasons but same effect
They’ve implied that they, SOMEHOW and despite us not having stuff that gives us the mats needed, actually thought a lot more players would reach Argos and that no one would be upset that they released it so quickly.
