Thoughts from a 2500+ hour player on inflation

This is the reason I stubbornly didn’t hop on the bandwagon to swap to FI Wardancer. Eso can survive with just lv1 Eso class engraving so the Eso book is only 2k

I’m just burning gold on books for the sake of something to do nowadays.

Finished Igniter, finished Hit Master (mistake), finished Grudge, working on Rage Hammer.

After that I don’t know, Blessed Aura and Desperate Salvation I suppose.

Then perhaps off spec Reflux and Gravity Training.

Not a bad idea at all! Then make that my turtle spec and macro every ability to some annoying catch phrase about consumables and the economy as well.

It’ll be great

Does it come with life time warrenty?

Dawg, more gold has been printed than the economy can handle for 6 months. This isnt some new thing that just happened. People were buying metric fuck tons of gold and then buying 1000s of blue crystals(inflating the price way beyond what it shouldve been) and items off the auction house, shorting the servers of items that would normally be dispersed more evenly and completely upsetting the balance of gold dispersal from dungeons vs cost of items. The only thing thats changed is that now people are printing their own gold through legion raids on top of the insane amount of RMTing being done and its completely broken the game.

yall just ignored our complaints for the past 6 months as we literally said this would reach a breaking point, over and over and over. called us all doomers. said ‘it doesnt effect me so who cares’. Now the games economy is completely broken, thus making it unplayable for most people. Releasing clown before fixing the economy will result in a mass exodus of pissed off players being denied access to the games only handful of content. We literally watched this exact same thing happen in new world. Amazon did nothing to save the economy. Look how well that games doing now. Nobody wants to play a game where a handful of cheaters are sitting on mountains of gold fucking the entire experience up for everyone else. We already deal with that shit in real life

Busing also has an effect to the inflation issue.

In NAW there is a Busing Station in Discord for Argo/Valtn/Vykas. Last week I purposely not click into the server, want to see how many bus notification will produce in a week, result? 264 and that is not including those who don’t use this busing discord but use the PF in game. Also to point out most are the same bus drivers with mulit-alt doing the bus driving.

Imaging the gold they get each week (Raid gold reward + Bus fee, per character, per run), especially if they stop honing, park their main and alt at desire level ready for Clown. Now the large sum of gold they get each week is used for other low supply stuff, BC, Books, Gems, etc. They can afford to pay more, seller is happy to raise the price on these low supply items.

As others have stated, I’m sure the 3 day hold has absolutely devastated people purchasing gold or items to sell for gold via the in-game store. I used to do it if I needed some quick gold to purchase a rare accessory or if I wanted to buy books while they were cheap. Now I don’t spend at all, by the time I can actually use my gold the items are going be gone anyways, or with the current inflation 30% more expensive. Its just a disaster of management.

I think theres more serious issues when youre able to put 2500+ hours into a 4300(ish) release period…

While bussing is a controversial topic, its gold generation falls under the raid category. It is true however that bussing increases the gold generation slightly in that 1370 characters can earn gold as a 1400 in Argos, which is an additional 1900 gold per week per bussed passenger. Potentially, that would be less than 12k per week (assuming the roster is all 1370s and is fully bussed).

The fact that the bus driver gets a cut of that additional gold doesn’t matter for global gold generation; the gold enters the economy from either the driver’s or passenger’s wallet.

100k gold is roughly 100 USD from the store. People want the equivalent of 200 USD for 1 soulfist class engraving. Why? Because nobody plays the class because its hard AF to play and constantly nerfed. Pair that with class engravings being ultra rare and you have the formula for aids.

I averaged about 12 hours a day since launch. This is totally doable by someone with few life commitments (family/job/school/etc.). I will be drastically cutting down my playtime in the near future once I finally get this job I’ve applied for back in February lol.

About pheons… I write in many post about pheons about an simple solutio, i dont know if is the best but i think will work. So, my solution was that, when we buy an accesories/ability stone from AH, buyer have 2 options to chose. Option 1: Buy item without paying any pheon tax but item is bound to char, so cant be resell
Option 2: Buy item like now, pay pheon tax, item is unobound and can be traded again
In that way, i think all will be happy, f2p players can gear main, alts etc, and who want to be a business man and make flipping, will have to pay pheon tax…

The main issue with pheons is that they are not there to prevent flipping. The trade limits are there for that (note, you can’t flip books or ability stones at all due to the 1 trade limit).

Pheons are there as a money-making scheme for the devs/publishers and that concept not going to change. What can change is the rate at which pheons are needed. The devs have several options to play with (pheons needed per item, pheon price in blue crystals, royal → blue crystal rate, etc.) so that a happier middle-ground can be achieved.

Or just have pheons based on gold value.

Thanks for your data Blackrock analyst, now I know why it’s definitely a dead game… If you have some time left you can write us a report about the danger of being a programmed consumer who follows the trend financed on streamers, it will surely end up being very clear to me the existence of this game in the west, thanks in advance.

Changing pheon cost also means SG needs to do research on pricing and player spending impact. Pheons is too deeply rooted in the game economy that it’s practically the largest driving force for the demand on blue crystal exchange aside from crystalline aura. It’s just a much more difficult task than other more easily implemented band-aid fix such as giving players enough free pheons.

@Inoire I agree, pheons are a very difficult thing to change. However, there are a number of options for the devs/publishers to adjust the rates so that there is still purchasing of royal crystals and players are generally happy.

I agree with you.
Ill say one thing to you, this game doesn’t deserve that much care from you or from any1 you are better than this brother

If ags keeps ignoring the many flaws-bad systems this game has, Ill give this game another maybe 6 months to a year max, so try not to take this game anymore seriously.

Very good essay but AGS is never gonna help us out considering the fact they are profitting more to indulge the cheaters/bots/rmters. Lets go I cant wait to see lvl 10 dmg gem to be 1.5mil gold.

AGS would be truly making this game F2P friendly by then.
