Can’t hear it anymore dude. While it is true, they knew how many people they can let on the servers. Probably out of greed they refused to close servers early enough because it would look bad if they stop letting people play the game on release day already. Stop defending AGS ffs. They failed big time.
At this point, hedging for an congaline of star struck FOMO chasing stream watchers should be the norm.
They likely did predict it - that’s why the second region was added so fast. The growth was just much faster than their reaction time. Locking servers seems cool to people who were already playing, but imagine being stuck for a week waiting while other play. The situation got out of hand, but most people managed to at least play for few hours to feel included.
Thing is they could’ve predicted it. They sold 1.5 million pre-orders. Did they lose that number on a post-it down the back of a sofa?
If they had predicted it, the second region would have been on standby ready to go as soon as they saw the queues and full servers during head start.
They are bunch of amateurs… they are launching their second MMO and this is their first F2P one. I am pretty sure they could have underestimated ammount of people.
Not sure why people are using it as a excuse… because it only shows how incompetent AGS is.
Europe should have started with two regions. But now it is too late for anything we are going to have to endure it.
We all know AGS missed the launch. The fact of having put only one region server in Europe (while they put 2 in the USA), was the starting point of all these problems.
Now it’s up to them to find a solution because waiting for people to leave the game or change server region is not an option. Players who have been there since February 8 are not going to throw away their progress and start all over again.
