Actually combining chaos and guardian would be a good idea.
Like its 3 gate, first 2 is like now the first 2 chaos gate and there will be a guardian boss at the third gate.
They wont do it, but it would be cool.
That’s the problem in the end.
Lost Ark is extremely content lite, but that is well hidden behind the act of running everything multiple times each week.
If you are a single character only player your week in LA is done by perhaps Thursday night assuming you have a capable party to clear whatever latest content to you is.
So 3 legion raids, some weekly quests and boom you’re off until next weeks reset. They can’t have that everyone would just forget about the game over that week and move on to something else.
Alts drive profits but they also keep players logged into the game longer, higher chance that they buy something from the shop and keep the player count high, since a new class can be fun to play, maybe you’ll buy some skins for it, or swipe to hone it up, they gave you a limited time power pass / hyper express so you don’t want it to go to waste
so now okay you’re into Friday, running 2x of everything above… No big deal.
After 1.5+ years of getting these power passes and hyper expresses and such suddenly you have a roster of 6. Now you’re into a whole week of trying to get 6x the same content as you originally were doing done in that week.
The content itself remains identical, it’s just been morphed into 6x and now you are trying to fit 6 Vykas runs, 6 clown runs and X Brel runs into the week and you lose patience with other players who might be slowing you down.
Yes you absolutely are.
But if you do wish to push them, it’s the only way to go. Sure it’s not worth selling 600-1000 unbound stones which cost 1g per 10 cuz it’s only 60-100g per run and you can’t always guarantee to sell them to get that gold.
But it sure as hell ain’t worth paying for those same stones, and let’s not even mention the shards, which are notoriously expensive. So if you do plan on pushing those alts someday, I suggest you start doing the chaos on rested rotation. Beats not doing them at all.
But yeah, nothing can replace the gold from raids. At least nothing that bots couldn’t do a lot better than us
there is value in doing them rested
mainly for the silver and gems
but if you hate playing the alt don’t play the chaos dungeon
push alts to generate income to feed Main
Because our addiction to MMOs is all about character progression ( at least for most us ) and inferno offers 0 progression.
Well for the moment I’m ok with it but that’s maybe due to the fact that I don’t do chaos anymore for months, even before my break.
does not work like that
the resources spent on pushing the alt can be used to feed the main instead
oh you are back
still playing this? lol
well I would say this is a waste of time but @Jauntie is known for his walls of text
they never read anything here, and they never will, the game wont change
Thought we were done, you seem pretty set on your stance that the topic is moot and a issue driven internally by each individual.
But it’s not in your head. People constantly are trying to chase that satisfaction in the game. There will always be someone who will seek to min/max progression and the like. However as it regards building a casual playerbase and making the game feel less like a chore people will gatekeep, deny entry, etc. It’s trying to fight this, trying to stay ahead and trying to have access to relevant content that drives burnout. The maintenance of it all. A lot of the systems legitimately needs to be consolidated and refined so that it doesnt feel like a mundane chore to do it.
Perhaps the way I originally framed it was wrong and despite having the ability to rest daily content this still applies there as well. Nonetheless burnout isn’t simple because a player doesnt know when to stop. If you stop you cease being able to fuel the machine. The maintenance process needs to be less taxing legitimately. It’s hurting everyone.
Running out of gold trying to push 1 character past 1460, not sure how you think I can push an additional 5 lol.
for me i still need to push alt for Chaos dung Level to maximize mats to feed my main.
1445 no gold
future patch 1460 will not use gold
at 1445 u can farm those mats and exchanged it without need alt to be 1490.
Sure but that doesnt mean it couldnt be refined to provide everyone what they want in a much healthier way. You dont need Vykas giving you gold 6 times to feel like you’re progressing, you just need content thats relevant enough for you to progress. Inferno could be changed so that it’s actually appropriate content for the hardcore playerbase progress, rather than some niche mode with artificial difficulty that ignores your progression entirely.
I do agree that it’s in their best interest to improve the conditions of this game for those who are prone to burn out, cuz I also agree there will always be such players. But if they don’t burn out, how will they learn the lesson? I’m thankful for my burnout last year because I learned how to approach the game more relaxed and I learned the logic behind why that’s better for long-term progression.
You can still chase min-maxing and FOMO without burning out. you just gotta change the tactics. I don’t think it’s possible f or the devs to completely remove the risk of burning out because the game IS founded on the FOMO mechanism to fuel addiction and swiping.
It’s on us to learn the new tactics and adapt to the conditions in the game the best we can to improve our long-term chances. And I just don’t think changing the system will accomplish that.
But in other threads I did post some suggestions on how to adapt the game for casuals more. I recommended rehearsal raids for every raid in the game to be available for players and a system which would incentivize veteran players to hop in lobbies with casuals to help them prog and learn the raids.
So there are things we could discuss which would really change the game more suitable for casuals. I just don’t think avoiding players burning out is an option at all. We don’t have the knowledge to do it and still keep the game as it is in its’ core
if you want to be competitive you won’t complain about the requirements to be
no matter what someone will play more than you
and if you don’t want to put in the same effort they will always be ahead and the only way to match or surpass them is to play more than they do
being casual comes with the acceptance that you WILL NEVER be competitive
do you think you can compete with a pro golfer while just playing once a month?
come on you should be right?
how about chess? you wanna compete with Magnus Carlsen by playing only with your friends on the weekends?
How about pool? wanna compete with Efren Reyes? How about snooker? You wanna compete with Ronnie O’Sullivan?
but this is just a game right we don’t have to bring Real life into it right?
Well There is a gunlancer main in EUC that has 300 roster level with 24 Gunlancers all at Brel ILVL
you wanna compete with him?
BUT YOU DON"T NEED TO DO ALL THAT RIGHT?
You want to be competitive or not?
if the answer is no then accept that you won’t be ever even close to those guys
dunno where these expectations come from
The current end game is 1560
if you have a character at 1560 then you are AT end game and you ARE competitive
if you are fomoing over not having los 30 or being denied cuz no +20 weapon there are ways to keep playing the content despite those
and in the casual sense it’s called finding a guild and people to play with
I have some alts at 1415-1445 but the amount of gold they generate is minimal after gold nerfs.
Infact, I feel like sometimes it’s just better to run some 1370s I have through hard mode dungeons, at least they are quick, easy and I don’t have to spend time trying to get into groups.
Trying to get into a vykas/valtan group on ilvl is hard enough, doesn’t seem worth after gold nerfs.
For sure it helps to cut the fat where you can.
I only do chaos/guardian on a rested rotation, so a maximum of 2 characters each day.
But getting all your weekly Raids done is pretty time consuming and it just feels bad re-running Vykas/Clown for just a little corpa. Especially now that relic accessories have little value you don’t even hold up hope for a good drop.
stay 1445 just run argos… plus argos more gold than HM oreha.
I don’t know man, only 3 raids perk week sound waaaay too little for me of what is the game’s core
There must be other ways, guys. Come on, think better.
I gave all the suggestions I came up with or read around and liked, but I can’t think of a way to satisfy all. Some people still enjoy doing a lot of raids per week. Some are close to burnout but dont know it yet. Some have already left due to burn out.
But I still enjoy doing even more than 18 raids per week and I know I’m not the only one
no you don’t need to
when do you think that alt will pay off the investment?
a 1490 alt takes 171k gold in resources excluding shards and leaps (assuming you used bounds)
then it will take 13? weeks to pay out the gold cost alone
and then what it will generate you 1k gold per day in materials?
until you decide to push to 1540 cuz of ancients
which will cost you 290k again same only went up with bound mats
so it will take you 23 weeks to pay it off?
it will be slightly faster like a 2-3 months maybe due to drops and generated mats
until akkan drops and you decide to push again
and that is ofcourse excluding the Accessory cost
Quality cost
Bracelet cost
Tripod Cost
Gem Cost
along the way
alts NEVER pay off
they only are worth if you bus with them
if you bus they pay off extremely quickly
but the cost of making them bus viable should be accounted for as it’s not trivial either
