So what im wondering is, is this for both class engraving builds where the class feels bad or just one? If its both then it probably needs some kind of early game rework.
In KR they are changing a lot of dead tripods. Could this be effective in improving the class’s early dmg when we get these?
Thats mostly because of their party buffs. Personally I enjoy the class but I’m wondering if most ppl don’t yet understand how good the buffs are yet. Either that or my current scuffed build (T2) is offputting to groups.
My apologies, I was operating under the presumption the item set was class specific and not something everyone had access to, since that’s how item sets have been so far during my play experience.
Wardancer is on the weak side early on, but Scrapper is fine. I’m speaking from the perspective of someone that has been jumping around, trying to decide on a main while still in T2.
However, I think the perspective of Wardancer and Scrapper are both hindered because a lot of people end up going to First Intention or Taijutsu, which are both very lackluster early on and particularly bad for Chaos dungeons or anything with mobs.
For anyone struggling with these classes in pre-T3 content, go with Esoteric on WD or Shock on Scrapper. They are much better than the alternative early on.
Don’t worry, I saw my friend whos got a t3 scrapper do 12m damage with her ult yesterday. Shits nuts, also a crazy good carry class due to all the stagger damage.
With relic set later on, wardancer becomes a monster. You can see some videos of them in RU and KR out damaging thir parties easily.
I will also add. They are amazing in pvp and are a top pick tournament class and will make any team in solo que happy you are there with your team buffs, tankiness, and ability to chase down ranged classes.
Most of the swiftness based classes that doesn’t have gamebreaking engravings have this problem and it’s really painful :<
Glad someone gave hope to others.
I play overflow soulfist in ealry t3 (and have all martial artists in t1/t2) with a zerker bud, as soon as he had his 20 greem mayhem books he turned into a beast, making me eat more and more of his dust as time passed, now it’s getting slowly better.
Good COOLDOWN gems and 1k ish swiftness changes everything, no more time wasted using normal attacks is a massive dps increase
i have abandoned my wd as my main. and now im even thinking if it shd be my priority alt. its just so tough. i mainly play pub and if my entire team gets wrecked in guardians and im the only one left soloing its taking forever because of the low damage. i just hate feeling like im useless. i do way way more with my deathblade. i can kind of unds why, although so many veterans profess that wd is very good endgame and wanted in parties for their buff, majority of them that i see dont select wd at all.
It’s a commitement for sure. You need the right build and gems. Also depending on what engraving you are right now and which tier you are in has a huge impact. Don’t run first intention if you don’t have the mana runes, then your option is esoteric, but with lower stats you can only run one spender ability. Basically you can’t just come out fresh 302 doing what other classes can, but it does get better.
Side note, wardancer isn’t a great alt option. Unless you have the irl funds to boost it to late T3 and buy the correct gems I wouldn’t make it an alt. If you main it though, great pick.
1355 on my wardancer: The more and more and i gear the shorter the gap between me and my zerker friend gets. I see it after every day with % damage, from him doing 62% at 1302-1315 to him now doing 40% at 1355. it gets better, it gets faster, it gets more smooth! On top of this, you are wanted by almost everyone for your buffs, its sadly an underplayed class here in NA. Stick it out, keep playing, it will pay off!
True, was really frustrated for a while but now the gameplay is faster and more powerful and most importantly, more fun
I’m not even at the good stuff yet, also re-doing my engravings from t1-t2.
Anybody who says Wardancer is trash at t1-t2 is just either bad, spams skills without using his brain, doesn’t respect buff windows, keeps getting hit non stop so he can’t dps (or gets cc’d everytime he Wind’s Whispers). is badly built skills-wise, Engravings at t2 is easy to get 3/3.
As you can see i topped the 2nd dmg dealt in Alaric’s 8 man raid. And the only reason the sorc got the mvp is because she was the only t3 (at 1340 if my memory serves).
This was done as an Esoteric Wardancer. 40/60 split into Spec and Swiftness respectively 3/3 Ambus master+Raid Captain. lv1 Esoteric.
So yeah, pleople need to get their sht straight regarding Wardancer pre-t3.
Now, would it be cool, to not care about posiitoning, and fishing so much for the back attacks? Sure.
Would be cool to play the class like sorc, where they don’t care from where are they hitting the boss? Sure.
Does it suck that we have to put a little bit more effort (gameplay wise) to actually outclass those classes? Absolutely,
But that’s not an excuse say the class CAN NOT compete in damage with these classes.
I have a folder full of MVPs pictures, from guardians, to abyss raids…
Yeah, if you minmax it for lower tiers they can be half decent.
Most players are not used to end game scaling classes. Imagine rolling a WD alt from a sorc or a madness zerker. From little to no investment faceroll, to proper positioning and engravings.
Still WD and Soulfist are my two picks of all available classes, they are just fun to play compared to the ones mentioned above.
