If you read this thread it should be even more obvious that they are a troll. Lying about a post they made in the face of clear evidence, as if we can’t see the edits.

K so I don’t agree with insulting people or afking (report people for both of these things.) That being said, I don’t owe people more than 1 wipe / try, in party finder there may be a few wipes depending on the content, depending how close the thing is to dead I’ll stay (because I generally join reclear/know what you are doing parties) but I do not owe random people in matchmaking more time than 1 wipe.

Yeah, no. This is a fast paced game and the story is really really awful. Most people play the game for the gameplay. If you enjoy the story of this game, then you don’t have much gaming experience because you simply cannot compare it with some games who have breathtaking stories. The lore is just so badly written it’s a shame. You have no right to force people sit through the boredom while you can simply re-watch it through memory room. While levelling my alts if there are people who don’t skip the story in a dungeon I harass them. Make sure they can’t fully enjoy it.i because what they are doing is selfish. If you want follow the story, queue solo. There isn’t much difference. In groups , it’s just a bit faster that’s why I queue for a group. Now, I have seen some posts people claiming that they can’t do it in hard mode because it’s ‘hard’. If you really can’t solo dungeons in this game, you should uninstall. It’s freaking easy. There is no challenge to it all. Toxicity borns out of necessity. Life isn’t easy or forgiving most of the time. Get used to it. Nowhere will ever be a shining pinnacle of peace. Most people find it easy to release their inner toxicity on internet because most of the time there is no consequence to it. In real life, we wouldn’t dare to say things we say on internet to anyone’s face. This is human nature. It has ugliness as well. The only way to prevent this is by having a big moderation team which requires money and investment. Companies mostly invest so little in this.
PUFF is a troll, look at there other post PUFF=TROLL they try to mask it with positivity but they are still a troll. Maybe one of those with the really long hair you buy in the store that are kind of cute but still a troll.

While agree with some things, i dont agree that toxicity is born out of necessity. Toxicity is born out of selfishness, conceit, greed, elitism, etc… things like faith, friendship, and trust are born out of necessity.
Edit: well at least in real life it is. The perfect example is service members in the military. They can come across as toxic when they talk trash about eachother or other branches, but that what families do. However, at the end of the day those strong bonds born out of necessity is what really matters.

And the player also has the right to watch/re-watch all of the cutscenes they want because they also have that right. By saying that one does not have the right to force people to sit through the cutscenes the exact same thing can be said that you do not have the right to force people to skip. If you want everyone to skip use the party finder and include “skip cutscenes” in the title.
This single post encompasses the behaviours and mentalities that are making this community toxic. It only takes one toxic player to have a toxic community and this post demonstrates that to the fullest extent.
Toxicity on free to play games is a given, the majority of players hanging out in f2p games are under 18 exactly because its accessible to them since they have no income, other than that MMORPGs in general and especially Lost Ark promote toxicity with their systems so there is not much we can do than as you said be kind.
lol that explains why all the FF14 streamers I’ve seen on Youtube look like they have perpetual smile on. I had a coworker last summer/fall who was very passive aggressive but had gentle voice with smile on at all times. He said he’s into FF14 very much and he has an online gf from that game. Maybe it’s just a coincidence but it was a little weird.
I played some months of FFXIV and let me tell you there is genuine kindness in the game, even when i was a noob tanking people were always patient after i told them i am a new tank, in all the time i played i only encountered 1 toxic person and the whole party destroyed him in seconds for talking shit, forced kindness just cant happen in FFXIV especially if you are pushing savage and ultimate content, you ll be wiping for weeks with the same 7 people so there is little space for toxicity in that.
The community is so cool, random people whisper you to tell you they like your glamour or people in events just talk with each other and then becoming friends and hanging out, best mmorpg community i ve ever been a part of.

My issue isn’t that people fail mechanics, or don’t skip cutscenes. The issue I have is when I explain to my group “That was a stagger check, don’t run, help your team” and I get a reply of “Shut up noob, you dead haha” and they don’t understand that their failure of the mechanics is what gets their teammates killed.

i dont really get it, if you do all this what’s the problem?
ive yet to experience toxicity after 500 hours.
I make sure im able to explain fights in 1 or 2 sentences and i call everybody girl to elevate anybody taking themselves too seriously, actually somebody was a bit toxic bc i apparently miss gendered them ina video game LOL, like hunni, i can almost see your characters reproductive organs in it’s outfit, you’re a girl for the next 10 mins.

well, you will come across one or two occasionally, but not often. I came across one in chaos dungeon where someone is adamant in killing every single mob before going to the next one, so the vote stuck at 3/4. When you told him to go, he replies stfu or something along those lines.
Then there is the occasional person who complains about some nonesense

“you ain’t happy? Be happy!” ain’t really positive nor constructive take on any issues people are having with the game

I don’t believe a community is toxic by nature, I believe the publisher makes the community toxic.
People were hyped before release, they dealt with a ton of bullshit that was easy to predict and was too slow to fix, they were lied to by influencers who said the game was one of the most free to play friendly game, that the game had a ton of skins/classes.
What we got was a disastrous launch (especially in EU), with no compensation even when paid feature were not working for weeks, censored things everywhere, a poor quality localization, no skins, people banned on forums when they point these things out, a pacing beyond stupid, half the population being bots, the famous roadmap that took 3 months to write 3 paragraphs with barely any change in it, a lot of content missing for no reason thus creating a worse experience than the original deadzone.
Add on top of that the worst communication I’ve ever seen for an online game, with half the patch notes being just false, CM telling you to go play the other versions if you’re not happy, “we’re listening to your feedback” being just the polite way for them to say “lol ok stfu”, argos announced 10 hours before its release, again the roadmap being just for the upcoming month and a half with a third of it being “tentative”.
Now I wonder why the community is being toxic, god I can’t figure it out, must be because they’re all angry people IRL, can’t be anything else.
