Unfairness In Toad Decision

Those who opened the boxes not only keep their shards/leapstones that they bought, they also receive the compensation (outside of the gold refund), receive an extra week of the toad shop, and lastly had more opportunities for the toad tokens to trade in.

I am unsure of how this decision was more fair than moving the locked random boxes to universal storage and allowing people to take them out on whichever character they wanted, OR allowing the toad shop to stay as is, in fairness to all, holding the loss for the week and altering it to character bound on the next weekly reset.

There is also the matter of people potentially spending real money on gold to buy the chests under the assumption that they are roster bound. There is the potential that they simply would not have spent money knowing that this would be the outcome, or if they were character bound in the first place.

I am unsure how the decision to be “more fair” resulted in this discrepancy. Two clear solutions that resulted in people not losing out were presented, and ignored. The chosen solution was on the greedier side for sure. A celebration of the game for sure.

ok, what would be your solution how to handle that situation ?

only say its unfair without a better solution is pretty crybabylike

you said there were 2 solutions, whoch one ?

I suggested it already right here: “I am unsure of how this decision was more fair than moving the locked random boxes to universal storage and allowing people to take them out on whichever character they wanted, OR allowing the toad shop to stay as is, in fairness to all, holding the loss for the week and altering it to character bound on the next weekly reset.”

The post has solutions proposed.

The best is to leave it roster bound until maint and then change it to character bound during maint.

The second best is to move all boxes to universal storage during maint.

At the end of the day, they can’t repair the harm they’ve caused by changing it from roster bound no matter what they do. I mean, leaving it roster bound for the whole event would work but they are not going to do that.

People sold 500k to millions worth of tradable mats at firesale prices to prepare for the market following this event on weds after roxx confirmed it & nothing was said about being roster bound by 5pm pst.

would have been easy… just ffs let these first weeks boxes as they were - for anyone. change them in week 2.
easy - fair.
they made a miskate - community would be kinda happy - happy 1st annniversary - now we have some unfair advantages for some players and the playerbase is pissed

Well it wouldn’t be totally fair either letting it roster bound. Players with more characters could buy more mats at reduced price that people with less characters.

yeah, but how many did that percentage wise of the whole playerbase anyways ?

most were sleeping or working till they locked them

so what is whith that persons who didnt got them, leave it one week like it was ? how is the advantage for people with 12-24 rosters anyway ? so the gap would be even worse.

the market crashed already mildly… with that whole week its complete fucked up afterwards .

universal storage, is an easy solution, but bad for the market again.

they made a mistake , tried to figure out whats the solution which is best for… i would say AGS

players ? who cares if would do the same like them did
also dont forget , the twinkle frog isnt part of the annyversary, its for getting inflation down

but that roster chests didnt not help inflation at all

most were sleeping or working till they locked them

It was content release day. 80+ people online on my friends list who bought on that time on 6-24 characters.

It was also from server up to past 8pm est. It covered all of prime time EU/SA as well.

well they had to buy character slots if they have more than 6 chars. and if you dont have 6 chars you probably wont care about that stuff anyways…

If they do this then it would be unfair to the people who don’t have enough gold to buy boxes with every single alt

The current solution is the most fair one, everyone got their gold refunded + a compensation.

how would it be unfair if you dont have enough gold???

It’s 9k gold/char. It’s 2 legions worth of gold each.

your friendlist is a good referee ? i doubt it

man my friendlist isnt a good referee aswell … most didnt even realise that this is even a thing… also alot of players had not even the gold to buy it on all characters

but they woul if its open for a whole week

thats a thing about billions of gold , im sure some would even rmt just to get that cheap boxes
think about whats fair

there are diffrent opinions how something is fair
is it fair that the game to give us 2 weeks more of frog in march ? hell no ags is missing a shit ton of money … that is not fair either

Are you claiming most players haven’t played by 8pm? Or all day & past midnight for EU? or 9pm for SA?

you doing assumtions , same like me

you personal thoughts how it will be does not matter we dont have the facts how many played and bought that chest

Because everyone else who have a lot of gold will be able to take advantage of the bug with every character for this week since they will be incentivized to do it now that everyone knows about the bug.

But if they refund the gold and make everything bound to character no one will be able to take advantage, and people with low gold will be able to be at the same level of people with a lot of gold.

So, this solution is indeed the fairest one since no one will be able to take advantage of AGS mistake and everyone will get their gold refunded + a compensation.

If you can’t comprehend it then RIP.

People who play 3 characters out of his 6 alts exist.
