UPDATE: MY BAN HAS BEEN REMOVED
Thank you to those who participated in the thread and helped brainstorm ideas, and to the CM and MMORPG article writer who was investigating my case. I have NOT yet been informed what the cause of the ban was and will update with this information if I am able to.
Yesterday I was permanently banned. I know people will make sweeping assumptions, so let’s get those out of the way first.
This account never cheated in any way, shape, or form. The closest thing to “cheats” I have installed is a program (not sure if I can mention it) that allows me to use WASD movement in LAO instead of a mouse. This program does NOT ‘automatically’ do anything for me. No auto-fire, no anti-afk, etc., it just allows me to move with WASD and nothing else.
In re: “is remapping allowed?” the answer is “yes”
This account has never been directly involved in back-channel sales. According to my Steam purchase history, I purchased more than $10,000 of Royal Crystals and used them for Blue Gems and conversion to gold through the in-game currency exchange. The only association to back-channel sales this account has are in-game mail spam and chat spam. There were never any items or gold sent from or received by this character.
Every item I purchased on the market was at fair market value. I have engaged in no ‘abnormal’ market transactions i.e. buying something way below market, or selling something way above market.
Every trade I have made in-game was with IRL friends. None of these trades included anything of significant value e.g. large amounts of gold or very expensive items.
This account has never spammed or avoided the profanity filter e.g. using @ for ‘a’, nor has it engaged in hateful speech. Conversations may have been ‘inappropriate’ by some standards at times, but never on any level warranting a permanent ban.
The ban does not give a reason. It just says “BANNED: Code of Conduct”. It did give the error “10010” but did not say restricted region.
EDIT: 7) I was sitting idle in Punika, just chatting, when the ban occurred. I was not “doing” anything. Just standing there, chatting.
I did NOT “refund” anything. My Steam purchase log shows I bought the silver, gold, and platinum packages, along with the Explorers and Vanquishers packages. If buying multiple tiers of packages is NOT allowed, then how was I supposed to know that? I did NOT buy multiples of the same package, just different tiers of packages.
I’m not here to appeal the ban. I’m here to look for ideas on what may have caused this. In 17 years on Steam, I have never been banned from any game until yesterday. Engaging in “gold buying” just doesn’t make any sense for someone who spent $10,000+ clean through Steam. I have had this game since Early Access, and accumulated a massive… 700-ish hours, so I’m clearly not botting. I hardly talk in chat, so it’s almost certainly not for something I have said.
Any ideas? My ticket has been submitted for review. Just looking to brainstorm and document some ideas in the meantime. Had to take some steps just to be able to post, but if any moderators want my banned account info, that is certainly available.
This is the 10 post about ban for no reason i saw just tolday… i think thats something wrong. Im one of the ban players, and the only thing i have done is trying to get mokoko from Yorn…
It would make no sense to do that because I’d be risking a $10,000 account, for a ‘discount’? Besides, they can easily check my Royal Crystal purchases with gold on my account. They will be directly related. There is no instance where “suddenly” a mysterious amount of gold appears in my account.
I have no clue tbh If you are 100% sure you haven’t done anything in the game that would break tos

there seems to be a lot of these bans lately
I really hope they can clear you and get your account unbanned
likewise to those with the mokoko bann too which I think is more triggered for the holding c and attacking triggering as bot actions even though that was not the case
I was dreaming of lost ark having similar controls to Battlerite… don’t know if you know that game but it’s one of the best controls I’ve used for a top down isometric game before
Honestly, unless you can get this escalated by someone it’s not looking good. The bans have been happening for weeks now and I haven’t really heard of any successes going through the appeal system.
But judging from the posts on the forums, the bans seems to be happening more and more frequently.
the only thing that made you banned is the tool you used for “WASD” instead of using your mouse, you know that the game was freaking mad with third party tools i hope you get a 2nd chance if ever this was the main reason.
Using a third party program is against the ToS and thus you just answered yourself. Doesn’t matter if you excuse it as QoL or whatever. Good riddance. Keep your games vanilla and you have nothing to worry about. That’s common sense.
“However we don’t recommend to use this tools to play the game, since is no highly necessary to play it. As much I can tell you can use it but by your responsibility” take the L and accept it.
Taking in consideration only info from this topic makes me think that you have been banned for WASD thingie.
Probably it mimics mouse movement in 8 directions that are repeatable and for software it looks like bot movement so anti-cheat flagged you.
That’s my take on your situation.
Why would you even risk a +15 year account let alone 10k by using a script or program that alters input?? Just because someone says they “dont” see a problem with using such a program (and still says not to use it), doesnt mean EAC wont flag you if it determines that your using such a program. Its one thing to just say it “only” alters input for WASD but how does anyone actually know that? The most common bots are scripts, and the most common people to get caught are script kiddies running a script with ‘bot’ in the window title. Not saying your using a bot program, be it an AFK one or not. Just saying that the game was justified by flagging you.
It is doable just very difficult and a huge invasion to privacy, to prove your innocence.
Amazon Games Support is useless, I was banned via commerce lock back in March. It took a month to get the ban lifted. Most AGS Support agents I spoke to barely spoke English, did not even try to help until one day I got an American agent who also plays lost ark and he helped. But I summited about 30 tickets only for them to be closed and received an automatic response saying my ban would not be lifted.
In this thread I have steps you must follow to get your ban lifted. First you will need to request your personal data from Amazon. There you will find the reason for the ban. You will need to do this to fight the Ban Amazon will not tell you why you were banned. It’s basically like throwing someone in jail but without telling them what crime they committed with no chance of parol or to stand trial…
That’s where you request your personal data and on the thread I explain what file you need to look for. Then after that you need to play the RNG game, and find an AGS Agent actually willing to help you.
I even tried talking to regular Amazon cusotmer support, on top of barely speaking English they had no idea what Lost Ark is. Good luck to you my friend and I hope you get your account unbanned.
You conveniently left out the parts about “providing an advantage”, “modifying game files”, and “exploiting the game”.
My remapping the keys, I gained no advantage, files were not altered, and it is not an exploit. “Take the L and accept it”. I suggest you take your own advice and move on to another thread if you can’t contribute to this one.
