You’re supposed to use rhythm buckshot and just replace something.
The point of a counter mechanic is to force people to have a slightly weaker build so they can actually clear the raid.
Bard doesn’t have a set in stone build, coue of abilities are flexible.
que of abilities are indeed flexible but buckshot is known to be a bad skill due to its cast and having to be right on the boss (short reach)
you are also sacking meter regen skills or buff skills to run buckshot
Just replace your laser with counter.
Then u have no stagger. Also buckshot has encredibly short range. U would have to be right in front of the boss to hit it. And thats one place u should never be at.
cant have it all… thats kind of the point. Change build as needed for encounters.

its not a solo encounter… take what your group is lacking.
There are stagger grenades but there are no counter grenades… therefore counter is more important. Make sure everyone uses grenades when needed. Simple ^^~
Bard doesn’t need stagger for Valtan. You only have sound holic anyway, and you can put in buckshot in its place if you really care about having Rhapsody.
Counter grenades sounds great though…

nah, if not healing i sometimes the annihilator title.
Annihalator doesnt tell much, if ure not healing as support, that is mostly given to you by the screen because they had to give you something. Also you will never win the real stagger title (cruel annihaltor vs zerk, scrapper, artillerist, gunlancer, upcoming destroyer or any other great stagger class.
Does bard have access to stagger like any class? Yes
Is Bard any good at it on the stagger spectrum of classes available? Hell no
Bard can stagger better than Paladin with laser so its hard to give that up.
Ive been running buckshot in place of rhaps as i refuse to play without a counter. So far we have zero content that needs the damage reduction.
Im unsure of storm as an actual counter… having to hold onto it instead of its mass identity generation makes it a tough sell. Will have to try it to see how it feels.

There is no counter before valtan that needs counter …
In Valtan I believe you need to counter with Buckshot, Prelude of the Storm counter is a Back Attack so if you use it from the front you won’t counter, if I’m not mistaken. (And you cannot go behind the shadows)
You can only counter from the front. Back attack is just more damage

You don’t need to hold onto it. Counters aren’t random, you can know when you need to. With experience of course
