Yeah, I duo it as a paladin and we rarely use any potions. Only if someone gets caught by dark breath or stomp in final phase.
Because of all the events I’ve got 50x boxes of both types of bombs in my storage, so that’s a non factor. 1 flare + 3 pheromones per fight.
But I agree it’s not worth spending extra 8-10mins for x2 runs considering it’s a 9 leapstones on average vs 8 for two runs. If you’re tight with time, definitely not worth it. I do it because it’s the only fight you can’t afk at this point and it’s somewhat entertaining.
I had a lot of fun soloing him but is worth just once for the box.
I duo him (SH and sorc) with a friend, takes 5-8 minutes depending on spawn, beginning was painfull but it’s pretty smooth for me atm
Personally, I love velganos as a bard but idk how the experience differs for dps.
I have done it daily for the last two weeks amd its great, was hesitant as first but now its fun.
i been doing it solo except on support alts. it takes 8-10 mins for scuffed engraving but with proper 4x3 its only like 4 mins for dps. most of the time u just spend walking
potential big drop is higher than yoho so imo it worths doing if u have a lot of playtime. u will never know what u get on that day

My experience as a reflux sorc it took me one run with matchmaking to decide I wouldn’t ever do it again. Velganos is MILES easier solo because all of his attacks are very well telegraphed and give you ample time to dodge or stop them in case of a counter. However I don’t recommend countering him unless you have no way out because the blue glow is helpful for recognizing the breath attack. It took me two tries solo at 1385 to clear him, ended up using all my 7 60% pots but I clear him everyday and ever since then I started carrying my friends through it when they hit 1385 doing like 95% damage originally now in my 4 man I do about 65%. I think it’s really easy for a reflux sorc because I have so many get out of jail free cards, I don’t even use pots anymore against him. He is much harder as a group because you don’t always know where he is going to attack and he’s got a lot of zoning and anti melee attacks so positioning is really hard for classes that rely on it.
I did actually end up match making it for fun just to see if I could do it. Both times the other three people were out of lives before he left the first time and I ended up doing 90% damage in the first one and 94% in the second.
Needless to say I do him everyday and honestly it’s the one thing I look forward to each day, it’s the most fair but legitimately difficult fight in this game along side floor 50 of second tower. The other bosses in T3 are easier but more annoying. This is of course through the lens of a reflux sorc player.
If you have 6/7 light of salvation set or lost wind cliff set those are really helpful because most of his damage is dark damage.
My conclusion is that it is worth it every time explicitly because it’s a fair fight that is hard and you should be doing it not for the rewards but to improve your own gameplay.
It’s easier to solo/duo because of the golden circle mechanic. It’s much easier to have one or two people get to 5 stacks, versus spreading it all out 3 each. Not to mention more chances to wipe the party the more people you run due to other mechs.
The Map is not worth my time.

U lose all ur stacks when he changes phases… so sharing light stacks is kind’ve hard… because if ur group has good enough dps,hes obviously going to go through phases quickly— which means only one or two dps will actually get stacks… only for it to reset shortly after
I did him once for the quest rewards and I do Yoho daily now.
My thoughts are something I need to do daily should not be that hard or take that long. Way to much time to beat that boss especially if you are doing it on multiple characters. Just not worth the time.
If you are farming those cards it could be worth it the extra time.
didnt read if it was already answered but velganos is much harder to do with more than 2 dps because of the way the light stacks work, he is arguably easiest to solo, with 2 dps u can share light stacks 2 and 1 into 1 and 2 so both dps have 3 stacks after 2 spawns and u can still skip stagger on both solo or duo dps, once u have 3 dps it becomes extremely hard to manage light stacks and you cant afford to skip stagger anymore because of that (when he gets staggered he drops 3 light stacks)
