Wait, so it's fine to move gold between accounts, but not rosters?

they dont, you just buy char slot and do it on the same serv ?

That’s the same roster… Why would somebody want/need to send gold to/from characters that share the same gold pool?

Hmmm… interessting posts.

Maybe it´ll be time to create some new Accounts and push my Main with it, as it is allowed, sometimes.

I feel like the CM or whatever that said you cant move between servers was just wrong. Cause rox has came out and said that bussing is allowed, and thats literally using the AH to move gold between servers, its just not moving it to yourself but between different people.

They both basically said the opposite thing so one of them is wrong lol. Also its very common practice in KR to be doing raids on two different servers but same account.

as near as I can tell, using multiple accounts and funneling gold is A-OK as far as the rules appear to be concerned. And as long as you never use an external tool to play the accounts simultaneously, no problem. (multi-boxing) If you were to play the accounts at the same time - manually - no issue.

Also no issue with playing multiple rosters on the same account, with just the fairly insane CM comment about the AH standing in the way of funneling the gold. I don’t think you’d actually have an issue with this part, just avoid triggering whatever parameters they have set their AH script to for getting flagged accidentally - you don’t want to get autobanned by accident.

An official statement clarifying the free market status of the AH would be appreciated. (and an ongoing thread asking for exactly this is in progress here - Official statement about Multiple account - #27 by CriticalCore - Shadow Fox promised to look into clarifying this two weeks ago, we haven’t heard a word since.

All the described behavior is pretty standard in Korea, so if there is an actual issue with funneling gold it would be at the discretion of AGS.

To quote one of the CMs from launch times: “You should be fine.”
I sadly fogot who it was, and I cannot find the screenshot or original comment anymore.

I suppose for clarity, I should include the reponse that prompted this all in the first place which I thought I had done, but somehow neglected.

The Auction House is not intended for “gold transfers” and using it for unintended purposes can indeed get you banned. With that in mind, there is no cross-server method of gold transferring, therefore we suggest not abusing any system tools to try and do so as that can also get you banned.

Which seems pretty unambiguous.

This one?

that is stupid at best… how a legit transaction is not using AH as intended? if you put there an item say 5k when other person buys it, it does not matters in which server, the ah gets the tax AND the gold is going from server A to server B, why does it matter if the item is bought by other person in server B or the same person with his roster on server B??? how is that not using the AH as intended?

Because you are essentially using the AH to bypass the weekly gold caps on your main roster… which is not intended.

If that’s the ruling, then they shouldn’t allow people to have multiple accounts to do the same thing.

so dont allow me to create more rosters on other servers??? OR share my roster across the whole region and disallow further gold earning on the roster beyond the designated 6 ones

Sadly not. It was literally a comment saying, “You should be fine.” as response to someone asking about the definition of such rules.

that’s the insane statement I was referring to - it doesn’t even make sense.

If I pass my gold on server B to a friend via mail or personal trading on that server (call it a gift if you like), and now they buy my accessory listed from Server A - is this still an illegal transfer of gold? At what point does the intent behind a largely automated transaction on a region wide marketplace make our actions a criminal offence?

It’s nonsensical.

If the gold is clean, that’s the end of it and nothing else makes any sense.

That’s basically my sentiment on the whole thing, too. Assuming the gold has been legitimately earned, there’s no reason to penalize anyone for receiving it, regardless of how that happens.

If I want to mail a friend 400,000 gold, or give it to somebody on a different server, why shouldn’t I be allowed to do that?

It’s more about how the gold was originally generated that really makes the difference in my mind.

Hello Arkesians,

I see @Phyxion has done a pretty good job in gathering information on the subject. Given you are looking for some kind of official statement sometime along the line, this conversation would be better addressed in the Feedback section of the forums so I have moved the post.

Please bear in mind you can also submit your valuable feedback by filing a web ticket here.

Hope this helps and see you in Arkesia! :wolf:

While I’ve got you here, can you confirm that the above is true?

That it’s fine to have 2 accounts, and send gold between them?

Also that it’s NOT fine to send gold between rosters across different servers on the same account?

Im pretty sure I saw alot of posts about multiple accounts and its actually not allowed. let me find it if possible

There were several from a former moderator. People have been asking the CMs for an answer on this for weeks now with no response. So either they don’t know or someone told them not to respond. The answer given months ago by @Azanaa was only 1 account per player and no using the AH to move gold between rosters. That was info directly from @Roxx… or so they claimed at the time.

There were a bunch back in feb-jun, but they seem to have reversed on that point. Given that we’ve since been told the opposite, I’ve taken that at face value.

To that point, though: The post that I linked from @Fostus states that “having multiple accounts is not against the ToS, the main problem here is the transfer of gold back to your main account. While transferring gold between accounts is not directly against ToS right now, it is also not an intended feature of the Auction House” which would only apply if you were using the auction house to transfer the aforementioned gold.

In a later post, @Fenrirskoll goes on to say “there should not be any particular issue in sending yourself gold via mail”

Which leads us to the conclusion that it is fine to have multiple accounts, and to transfer gold between them, as long as they are on the same server, and you do so using mail and not the auction house.
