Wardancer PvP Kit Questions

So here’s my PvP loadout:
Wardancer PVP

While it’s very good at pressuring the backline and peeling with knockups, it seems to lack damage. Are there other skills that I should sub in to round it out more?

Is the Wardancers role more support than direct damage in PvP and maybe I’m just too focused on how much or how little damage I’m doing?

In unranked (and who knows probably ranked) there seems to be very little coordination and when I engage to try and peel/support a teammate they usually just run away once they roll/get up and then I’m left trying to fend for myself. In those situations it’s pretty painfully obvious that I don’t have anything to deal significant damage with or much in the way of defensive abilities.

Thoughts???

What do you mean you are doing little damage? If you manage a whole combo you should be able to take a significant amount of someones hp.

Maybe I’m doing it wrong then, because it’s pretty uncommon other than at the very start of the match for all my skills to be off cooldown since I’m constantly using them to support my teammates and keep the enemy team split up/occupied.

I guess what I’m asking is should WD be focused on doing damage or are they better suited for playing a support role?

Wardancer is very good for screwing over range and interrupting. You probs can find some youtube vids of some high elo players.

So I would ignore the elysd person and several other people that have nothing to say other than mock/insult/l2p tell you wrong information

Wardancer is not classified as a damage dealer but an initiator. Do not expect to be the damage carry. Not my video btw it’s from a Korean GM who plays striker.

Thanks for sharing, gonna give it a watch =)

EDIT: Was a good video with lots of helpful information in a nice concise format. Definitely the kind of knowledge that people need to have (about all the classes) to be most effective at pvp in this game.

Wardancer has a couple viable pvp builds. The one you showcased is really good at disrupting the backline. Make sure you pop your buff right before you burst for max dmg or if you are going to get jumped on (you probably know that already. They hit hard and are exelent at controlling the backline.

There are some builds that take swift wind kick over pheonix advent or lightning kick as an anti engagement ability or additional combo ability for better damage but you give up a mobility option. There are GMs in korea and RU that play both versions so i recommend giving it a try. The swift wind kick verson helps a little against melee oponents but takes practice since you cant run away as easily.

Overall you are a team player class. You can do the most damage on your team but also dont undervalue what you are bringing to the team with your buff. You can also act as bait since you are pretty tanky and can enable favorable damage trades with how much punishment WD can take. WD shines when you have skilled teammates who can capitalize on what you being to the table.

Sorry for the wall of text but I love the class and I am still learing more everyday I play it in pvp.

No worries, and yeah you’re right =)

I’ve been practicing paying more attention to when combustion is ready to pop so I can take advantage of it, but i’m still pretty bad at it.

After kind of changing my mindset to being more of a disruptor than damage dealer I’ve had a lot more success in proving grounds.

My main is DB but i’m enjoying PvP as WD waaaaay more to be honest.

Curious, I’ve actually been running frutious wind kick with great success but i do sometimes feel like i struggle to get in and end up resorting to peeling.

I’mma copy your build for a bit and try that, my only issue is that I’ll miss the nutty slows and dmg it does.

But yeah, i personally feel like 90% of our dmg when we pass the 500k mark comes from our tornado, hit like two three man’s of those and you will top the DPS charts, use it on one person ( like we’re usually forced to ) and we usually get out dps’d by most classes

Oh yes ignore me for saying their role and tolook for some high tier gameplay lol… dude there is a reason people tell YOU to l2p and get gud lol… Half the shit you come out with is wrong and low mmr reflecting.

Like what, that deathblade counters striker? Are you disagreeing with the opinions of grandmasters? Are you denying that deathblade counters all current melee in game?

No you constantly call for db nerfs lol. Sure db is not a nice matchup for a striker but its a 3v3. You are constantly calling db op which as you say is contrary to what GMs on other servers say… Learn your own class and stop obsessing over others. Infact just play a different class as obviously striker isnt for you lol… There is a reason you are constantly called out to l2p from people.
