Was there another ban wave that innocent bystanders got caught in?

one of the lads caught a ban sometime in the last couple days or so. ban window and everything that said permanent for cheating with an appeal option. i cant make heads or tails of it. he doesnt rmt or or bot or do anything unethical, so do these things get cleared up relatively quickly? cause he hasnt heard anything back yet. was it just bad luck for being a Sorc and making decent gold on the in game Market? is selling stuff player to player with the trade window banable for some reason? any input would be welcome. i just want to help the guy out cause hes already put plenty of money in to founder pack, ark pass, crystals etc… and is pretty sad about the situation.

IF he’s truly innocent as he claims he can hound customer support and hope for the best but he’ll likely be getting automated responses for quite awhile and from what I’ve seen recently once they issue a ban they never revoke it. At best there’s been rumors of people getting “perma” reduced to like 6 months or so but even then those are rare.

But other then just harassing CS and raising stinks about it, AGS seems fairly unwilling to work with players that want to appeal their bans. You can’t even get logs or anything saying exactly why you got banned they just fall back to “you cheated”

aww dang. no kidding? this sounds bleak. yeah, i do believe him so this really sucks. obviously if he isnt being honest with me then he got what he deserved. i really just dont think so with the money hes spent in game. hes got it to spare. unfortunately i dont know if hes got the energy to hound CS but ill for sure tell him anything is worth a shot if hes not hiding anything

We need to seriously address the unfair ban issue

I am sorry to hear of your friend’s scenario and how you believe the ban has not been correctly applied. Unfortunately, this topic is not suited for the support forums as we do not handle ban or ban appeals via this channel.

We suggest your friend enters their appeal in a web ticket here Appeal a ban - Support | Amazon Games, if they have not already done so. Once they receive a reply to this appeal via Email they may continue communicating via Email only. Please do not submit multiple tickets as that will only delay a review of the penalty.

In regards to the reason for the ban, they will be informed of the cause in general but no specific details will be volunteered.

Hope this clarifies your best course of action.

NO they banned a lot player recently! thats what live chat told me they are busy dealing with appeal !!! my old account got banned too…with no reason not telling me why …

Update: well he did get a response today. and sadly it sounds like a 6 month ban is gonna stick. it also sounds like her got roped in to some BS by unsavory players. heres how it went down:

after some talk with another player the player told him some faster ways to get gold like the player to player trade window. then the player put him in contact with somebody that needed what my friend was selling. he gave the books, the guy gave the gold. and then that player recomended another person to sell to or buy from, and another…and another…and another. so now i think he basically got jebaited in to a group of rmters. super sad but no real recourse. beware players, beware. thanks for all previous input.

ah yes the daily "friend (random person I met on discord and have no idea who he is actually) got false banned, how egregious, unban him now. - 10 posts later - Never mind guys, he did this and that and this and that but it’s no reason to ban him, he’s “innocent”
