we had millions of bots at launch and only one region had log in issues. to me its seems a lil odd that now, when we have far fewer people. all of a sudden a smaller number of bots are causing queues when the much larger number didnt.

Banning VPN won’t stop bots by itself, it’s meant to reveal the IP address of those who are botting so they can ban the IP directly. They literally said banning VPN is the first step of many steps to come.

Valtan at least had no queue logging in for like a week since they spoken about reducing server size so I assume they reverted it once they resolved whatever they were trying to resolve with bots…
But the queue seem to have returned 1 week later LOL

A vpn block is as effective as gold nerfs. It hurts legitimate players while and has a smaller impact on bots. Anyone that plays mmos would know that if a market to exploit 3rd party users exist than bots will find a way.

If that “one step” only helps get rid of .0000001 percent of bots, but gets rid of 1% of players, then that step is bad and they should revert and reconsider a different plan.

It’s obvious what’s going on. Bots suddenly going haywire right after the VPN ban isn’t a coincidence. Amazon must have blocked alot of bots. Now they’re upset.
This is pretty sad. Not only the fact that AGS had to resort to the literal laziest solution but the fact that they actually thought that gold farmers wouldnt be able to bypass it.
Honestly its like they fired a nuke at the botters and ended up hitting themselves with it instead 
Pepole only say ‘TOS’ for VPN user and none of them mention it bots are a real ‘TOS’ and they didnt effect them with that block only legitmate player suffer, bots are still there even more and farm/sell their gold.
People these days only come to a conclusion that something is fixed only if its visual representation is non existant. Ban waves are generally done during maintenance and the like too.
People translate that bots are still in game as “nothing was done or effective”. I mean realistically we dont have that data. Screenshots of bots are only small sample size of representation. The change also has only been implemented for a couple days now.
People also have the assumption that bot farms purely come from China which is heavily false.
