We lost 50% of our player base 1 month in

Ohh i get what you are saying now, yeah but you can do plenty of other things, also you can have alts 6 alts = 12 guardians, 12 chaos, 18 daily quests. I h ave 7 characters and i NEVER finish all my dailies, the day don’t have enough hours for that :c

Thats literally you all day

1 character all day and you need diapers jokes on you

Well since you play all those other games, shouldn’t this be a good thing then? You can finish what you want on LA and then go play other games. Thats pretty much what LA was trying to do in the first place.

I agree. They even opened an official forum post about the Honing.
They know it’s an issue and if it isn’t handled. They will lose everyone.

Why is it, the director of Lost Ark itself knows that if you make the game in a way that suits the common players, money will flow in. But Amazon decided to do things in a way that forces people to drop hundreds, in some case, thousands of dollars to progress.

It’s disgusting and Scummy behavior.

They know most people are complaining that’s why they opened the discussion and see if there is a way to make people less angry, it’s not an “issue” for everyone. They will open the possibility for them to nerf endgame content cuz of the majority can’t finish X content this is the bad part of this whole thing, mark my words.

honing is already too easy

Again, not streamlined. I read every piece of dialogue up until Shushire and did every side quest on the way to 50 and never noticed it. I don’t know anyone who did that didn’t actively search around for it. Claiming it’s just people spamming G is silly.

They are considered poor returns if they’re poor returns. Spending 20 minutes a day to do a mind numbing quest which only very slightly has a chance to increase the progress towards your overall goal is a poor return. People will do it because we eventually want the skill point potion. At no point did I say it doesn’t make you stronger, all I’m saying is it’s not something that’s engaging by any means.

Hate to break it to you but his issue isn’t that he doesn’t want to play alts, his issue is he doesn’t want to make multiple alts he doesn’t enjoy to farm content that’s basically a health sponge. Regardless, again. my post is about player retention and your responses can be boiled down to “this is how it is”, except this isn’t how it is. Our version is gutted and missing content which keeps players playing.

Sorry let me clarify, “You aren’t stuck with 1 honing chance a day in tiers which have brain dead content or in a tier which has almost no content”
No one has any delusions that the endgame of honing in lost ark isn’t a 1% chance to upgrade your gear. Again, for player retention which was what my post was primarily about running into a soft lock on progress while barely getting to the first interesting dungeons which don’t even make up the core gameplay loop feels bad.

This isn’t how MMO’s work OUTSIDE of the west, stop pretending like this is some western specific thing. Making the growth curve suddenly exponential at a low ilevel ruins player retention. Hate to break it to you but if you think that’s not the case go look at any successful eastern video game and you’ll notice the progress curve is not an exponential step graph

I mean based on the discussion by asmongold/stoops/zeals

As they pointed out, lots of content is missing that shouldn’t be which would make honing much easier and bearable as it’s making the honing from 1340-1370 the “deadzone” as they call it unbearable.

They also pointed out that something similar happened in korea yet for some reason they forced it upon us without adding the fixes and updated content that russia and other versions got before argos and not just solely argos like we got…

Then comes the level changes on argos/guardian raids that is MUCH higher for our version while other versions are much lower…

Then…the no communication on argos release as well.
There are many things smilegate/ags are doing that is really not going all too well for the casuals of the community which makes up majority of players. This can be seen with the nerfs and the honing difficulty that is literally much MUCH harder for our version at the current moment for some odd reason…

Gold River and the smilegate team seemed to have heavily overlooked something and really messed up the NA version.

Things like Green/blue HP pots not being able to be sold on the auction house in our version to, not adding content that should help players progress more smoothly in the deadzone 1340-1370 before argos release and the level entry changes…I could go on and on.

Something is going on with communication between ags and smilegate and unfortunately ags doesn’t seem capable of relaying proper communication to smilegate and vise versa. As it seems ags needs to send patch requests to smilegate to be approved and so forth. IMO I think smilegate got a really good deal on AGS, and now just riding the high and focusing more on the korea version for the time being and the new releases next month for their version.

The difference of mentality

Honing percentages are fine. It’s the lack of resources and chances to get them. People actually want to sit and grind out resources instead of having them gated. Funny that people consider Lost Ark a grindy game when there is hardly anything you can grind. Even “endless” T3 Chaos Dungeons is a delusion.

Well, endless T3 chaos dungeon got me from 1340 to 1365 in a week c:

Nah bro, nah.

Nah what? literally thats how i get my ilvl, it was tedious yes but its possible, i even felt like this was one of those old school mmo i feelt the nostalgia :’)

Take your pills

The player totals for elden ring havent fluctuated at all to indicated that’s where LA players went. I mean they could have but definitely not to only that game or it would have shown. I think just half the population went on to other things frankly. I expect another 30% or more to bleed out over the coming weeks/months depending on AGS decisions and just natural F2P mmo business model trends. These types of games tend to retain around 6% player base in the long term.

Well we won’t be able to know if this is 100% true.

I can at least confirm the mass influx to elden ring as untrue. But the rest is just raw data from averages gathered in the F2P industry.

Yeah my main is chillin at 1340 and has been for over a week. I could have gone up but decided not to and just make gold instead to boost my alts. I personally don’t see the rush to go fight Argos. I can wait for more content and stack my main as well doing the dailies/events.

Well we won’t be able to know if this is 100% true.

exactly, feels like lineage 2 chronicle 1, but easier. love the grinding so far

Yeah i was literally just making money selling mats till 1 week ago i decided to use all my money and do infinite chaos, im not at 1370 yet but i don’t even care about argos, ill do that content once i reach it, as simple as that
