We need an official answer on how to deal with gold transactions

During the latest weeks we’ve seen an increase of posts on the forum about bussing and bans for receiving RMT gold during them.

My questions are:

If I am bussing argos or any other content, how should I know where the gold is coming from?
If I am listing a BiS accessory on market for 40k gold, how should I know where the gold is coming from?

Why do legit players have to feel scared when bussing / selling stuff on AH,
what will happen when Brelshaza comes out and Ancient gear starts dropping? some of those accessories go for up to 300k gold on the Korean Server, what if we drop a BiS ancient accessory? should we start being paranoid about selling it thinking "What if an RMTer buys it?? I’m gonna be screwed! "

AGS needs to answer with specific guidelines on how these cases are handled, no vague PR talk, just straight up answers.

TLDR: “I don’t know where the gold comes from when I carry randoms, I should not get banned if it is RMT gold.”

Just to make sure what Bussing means.
Paying gold to other players to carry you trought a content.

**NOT**
"Carrying players for free trought the hard content for them to level up more easily and gain items".

For once I think we’re on all the same page on this subject. We need an official response. Usually I’d say RIPBOZO, but there’s FAR too many false bans currently, and the appeal system is dog water.
@Roxx @ShadowFox

Totaly agree @Roxx plz do something mocc a mammt

Honestly getting banned for receiving like 2k gold don’t even make sense, on most RMT Websites you need to pay a minium of 10k gold. This is honestly insane that you could get banned for something you have no control of.

The current assumed logic set for autobans such as banning the player who sold something without being able to know if RMT/bot gold can be used to purchase the item/service at a fair price is insane, and clearly show a lack of understanding of game economy and gameplay by the developers, which is super concerning. We need CMs and GMs who can bridge the gap to have an active role and voice in helping fix this problem ASAP. @Roxx

This game gonna die faster then new world at this pace  if they dont fix it

Something I think needs correcting on this is that it is not the developer’s responsibility in relation to how the players conduct any bus in the game, if it was requested that a system be put in place to allow this to be tracked and then became a feature then it would become a developers responsibility.

The thing to highlight here is the fact that CMs say one thing and then the customer support does something completely different, they do not sing the same tune, the main issue is they need to define what the rules are and have a clear written area where these rules around players bussing other players for gold is outlined, including where the gold came from and what the outcome is if they get caught in the net.

Something I have said before is, consistency is key and it again applies in this case.

If it helps, anyone who does Sales on-line or off-line faces the same issues everyday while doing business. Once you sell an item(s), they assume that the other party is purchasing in “Good Faith”. Unfortunately after the item has been sold shipped/delivered/taken away from the store, anyone can put a Chargeback claim against the purchase or even used Counterfeit Money. The Seller’s loses the money and the item unless they are able to somehow get it back themselves. This has been going on in the Real World, since Chargebacks have existed. Call it what you will but its stealing/thief/cheating and abusing the system for their own personal gains, and this happens in any real life selling situation.

When you Bus or Sell Items on the Auction, you are now the “Sellers” even if its within a game. Unfortunately part of RMT in creating Stolen/Tainted Gold for the Game recently, has been done so through Stolen Credit Cards/Chargebacks. This creates an issue with even the Gaming Company but also with the Real Life Person for which the identify theft involves. That is the situation we currently face.

sure but in the real world if you sell something and it is purchased with counterfeit money or gets chargeback does the seller also gets their store “banned” ? no they dont, they lose the profit.

so just take away my gold that is supposedly RMT gold that I received withouth knowing in “good faith” and don’t ban me for something I didnt know

I think at this very moment they’re trying to tell us to self progress/with friends (via no bussing) xD

Their business intelligence couldn’t tell them how to ban bots so the next best thing was to ban legit players. Less players = less RMT. /s

Good analogy but some point are different :

  1. If you sell something and the buyer is theft, in real world, the seller might get screwed over that specific transaction, here AGS can ban the whole account of the victim. The theft will make another account no problem
  2. In an virtual environment such as this where all transactions is in a single system controlled by the dev, you could expect a better and more fair tracing that wouldn’t screw up honest seller. What you can do that you can’t in real life is invalidate / cancel the transaction and roll back state. Seller lose the gold but regain the item so he can sell it again.

Just lose Profit? You lose the Cost of the item, not just the profit. You also get slapped with Chargeback Fees from the Credit Card company. Also if you deposit counterfeit money into the Bank, its you as the seller that gets slapped with the Counterfeit Charge. The Seller doesn’t get off without penalties in the real world, unfortunately.

Edit: I wish it was like you said, that if they just take away the gold from RMT and the seller not get banned for something they are unaware of. But I think the issue right now is that the people screening for RMTers are not experienced enough with the game to tell the difference between a worthless item and item with value. So once banned, they have to go though the appeal process to resolve that. Unfortunately new people hired to fight the RMT issue might not know anything about the game or its economy, it will take time for them to get educated with all that. Even I don’t know the true pricing of most of the stuff in AH.

From what I know, some are getting their bans lifted. Had a post yesterday mention something about 2 guild members with ban and one of them was already unbaned.
