It has no effect in dead waters from what I can tell and as far as I know ghost ships don’t attack players?
Low priority I’m sure but would greatly appreciate an answer somewhere down the line since AGS support just referred me to post here and nobody ingame seems to know.
Nah no reply yet. I’m fairly sure it is supposed to negate dead water effect for 10min since the orca skin has a similar effect that negates kelp for 10min, but only a dev would know I suppose.
I bought this skin but still take huge dmg from dead waters.
Is anyone able to confirm what this ability “Stealth” does for the ship?

Yes, as far as I know it should reduce the damage you receive from dread waters @Lakov @Albear. I have the same skin and the same problem.
I tested this skin to see if it really reduce the damage of dead waters. My route was Port Krona, on North Vern, to Foggy Ridge, there is a lvl 1 Dead Water in this route, so I sail it with and without the WS-4 skin. My results are: without skin 2997/4612 durability, with skin 2917/4612 durability.
So, in the end it is clear that the skin didn’t reduce the damage of dead waters. 
For what I understand, it protect you from the green fish ghosts that attack you in dead waters when doing an event.
In case anyone affected is curious, I’ve chatted with AGS on a few occasion since this post. As recently as today they said the issue is still being looked at via dev ticket and if confirmed as bug a fix will likely roll out soon™. They won’t offer refunds though…
I wonder if they like lawyers
