What happened to the punika pass?

Yesterday I finally got to Punika, I passed the last mission and they gave me a power pass. Since it was midnight, I just right-clicked it to add it to my account and went to sleep, and today I woke up and it’s gone. Today there was an update but what happened? There was an update… and everthing is gone…
Was there a time limit? there is a time limit of 6h? why so short? i have 30 min looking to this screen: https://imgur.com/a/w9zy2lN

Sorry they expired this morning per the patch notes. The punika pass was only available until the 26th.

It expired on October 26th like it was supposed to…

So we lost the Powerpass ? : lostarkgame (reddit.com)
Post from players on Reddit. Seems to be a lot of confusion. Plenty of counter points in the thread to both sides.

Yeah it seems there are a lot of confused people who didn’t/don’t read the patch notes where this was stated very unambiguously when it would expire.

Indeed, the lengths people go through to defend such crazy practices. I can’t agree more.

Yea even though the in game text showed “expiration: no limit” they should have read the patch notes and forums to confirm if that was accurate.

Hopefully they don’t change this. Or maybe they could even add in more false info in game but the accurate info will be posted on the patch notes and forums.

We don’t want casuals playing our game that don’t even read patch notes and just assume something that says “expiration: no limit” in game doesn’t have an expiration date.

Us real gamers know to never believe what in game text says, you must double check the patch notes and forums for accurate information.

The only people that have a legitimate gripe are the ones who started THIS month. If you were here in september, then it should of already been obvious since the same thing happened last month with the punika pass from the spells and spades event.

I didn’t have this issue with previous power passes as I had classes I wanted to use them on immediately. This was the first PP that I redeemed and didn’t instantly apply to a character. I had no interest in scouter and already had 11 toons. I was actually really excited that I was going to be able to hold that power pass for reaper or summoner in case they didn’t give us a new free one but oh well.

Let this at least be a lesson then, no free powerpass is infinite (outside the 2 initial vern ones). They dont want the free powerpasses to be held onto and are mainly there FOR the new class release. But reading patchnotes should always be a thing for any gamer regardless. I mean you want to know what new things came in said patch.

Nah clearly asking people to take a couple of minutes out of their day to read a patch notes blog that comes out once a month is such a monumental undertaking, I don’t know how anyone could possibly expect for people to do this.

Only lesson I learned is don’t believe in game text and assume it’s false. You can only rely on the patch notes.

Sad thing is even after re reading the patch notes, I still think it was a logical take that one could have understood the 10/26 expiration date as the date the pass must be redeemed by, not applied to a character. After seeing the “expiration: no limit” next to my power pass every time I logged on, I thought wow they’re throwing us a bone here and giving us a PP with no expiration, so we could have it for future classes in case they don’t give us another free one.

Did you know the in game text on the express event tells you can still get a free punika power pass after completing bervers mission when you actually can’t?

Bottom line is do not believe any in game text and assume it’s false. The only accurate info is on the patch notes and in the forums.

I hope they start adding in more false info in game and only posting the accurate information on the patch notes and in the forums. I mean do we really want players that don’t even read patch notes or the forums playing our game?

OK thanks for the info i will be more careful now. cheers

I’m somebody who reads the patch notes regularly and knew it “expires” on 10/26. Yet, after redeeming the event power pass, on the character selection screen it said “expiration: no limit”. I took this to mean that the opportunity to obtain the power pass expired on 10/26, but once it was redeemed, it had no expiration.

I suppose it’s my fault for not assuming that one of these pieces of information was inaccurate. From now on I’ll just assume anything in-game is inaccurate, but is it really too much to ask for them to not put inaccurate information in the game that will confuse even the informed players?

Anyhow, I had planned on redeeming that soon along with buying passes and character slots for two more alts, but this left a pretty sour taste in my mouth. I think I’ll refrain from spending money on that anymore.

Let this be a lesson. The game is a lie.
