Not sure if im missing something but why do rank when you can just farm xp on normal mode and steamroll people with a premade? Its almost the same payout as ranked and the season will be 6 months so isnt it better to start ranked in like 4 months to maintain higher rank and focus on high tiers now for easy rewards?
Well it’s supposed to be a more competitive form of PvP. Where the carrot is about climbing the MMR ladder. If you don’t care about that carrot then there is absolutely no point playing ranked.
Seems like they even removed the cosmetic skin rewards from it, which makes it even less appealing tbh

i personally do ranked just for fun and testing my abilities in more competitive environment. I love pvp in general and i really enjoy it here so far, but if you are searching for material incentive i dont think there is much of that in ranked so far, since most of the stuff can be obtained in unranked and that’s fair enough from one point of view because bots will not do ranked, but there might be a lot of then in unranked soon.
If you are into sadomasochism, go play ranked.

People like a grind which what ranked is, and offers a goal. Queueing norms gets boring as there is no statistic to show improvement.
Just wish they would fix ranks and mmr cause it doesn’t feel rewarding at all.
We got mounts and structures that I didn’t see in a russian pvp vendor video plus more crystals at m and gm ranks, while the “exclusive skins” were mostly recolors of other armor, so I guess we are better when it comes to rewards?
I guess you are right, as PvP only player I haven’t even been in my stronghold, so it’s a little disappointing that I’m not getting skins. There isn’t much carrot for players like me now, and probably won’t last that long.
