Just because you can’t see a reason for you to move, that doesn’t mean that there won’t be people moving.
Me and a friend are going to move there. We’d rather start over and be able to play whenever instead of having to sit through a queue of 18k+ people.
Regarding the region name, for me it doesn’t matter.

not a good fix for the players already playing on EU Central. They should let EU West players transfer from EUC therefore directly reducing the playerbase on the overpopulated region EUC.

EU West hasn’t been build as a copy at T Time of EU Central so it’s unuseable because we can’t open Twitch drops again !
You’re really upset about twitch drop items which litteraly everyone one and thier dog has at this point. Who’s going to be using them in a months time?
Oh and when people say it shows i’m there from the start. Good for you, most people will be hiding your pet anyway so have no idea what you are using.

I would have just used some random suffix/word a bit like what pokemon does with it’s two games instead of location. By calling the new one EUW it implies Central is for the east really, which isn’t quite true. Is what it is though, the names not going to change now. I’d imagine a lot of founders aren’t gonna move either way too since you still lose quite a lot by moving.

Why would you expect a cluster of servers in western EU to be called something different.
Tech companies tend to keep the same naming conventions once one has been adopted.
Names are just names so whatever.
But not following the suggestions the community came up with like copying all servers
over to give players the choice where they want to continue and deleting the old data (or the new
if staying in CE) is a missed opportunity to calm the angry playerbase down a little…
I still think that was the best alternative to a servertransfer / regiontransfer for the whole roster available at the moment.
Now that opportunity is gone.
I mean there is still hope for a proper region transfer service - but implementing it will take much more time. If it’s happening at all.

Some people in this thread should actually think deeper so as to why it matters. What if new players and the core playerbase from western countries join EU West over the course of months ? And thus Central becomes eastern dominant, making people that stuck with the region left with people that speak foreign languages ?
Ex : I’m french, want to speak and play with english/french people, and I’m currently on Central. What if in a year, the french/english community (as a whole) happens to be mostly located on EU West because name ? Do I make the switch now, lose current progress and take the gamble that it will be populated, AND with western communities ? Or do I keep playing on Central but it might just be eastern guys with whom I don’t share much ?
Seeing ur argument, ur best option maybe should be begin in EU WEST now.

calling the new region EU WEST when most players from EU CENTRAL are from west of europe is just to lure new players into the new region. EU WEST will become the most popular region over time and founders got scammed by amazon.
i have a platinum founder pack so of course i will not move and i should add i will not give another cent for this game.

in all honesty i would have had 3 EU server clusters: EU East, EU West and EU Scandinavia
It wont, Central Europe has more nations because it includes Germany.
west only has UK/France and Spain
