I’ve seen this happen several days now. A couple of nights ago, there was a 1460 destroyer that mm’d yoho and another sorc in a separate run who both collected the guardian soul. Just now, I was in a yoho with a 1490 berserker that collected the guardian soul.
Why?
I guess to carry noobs while also not wanting to put in effort to do dailies ? Who knows
Maybe because price of normal honor leapstones is similar to great ones and it takes less time to kill.
Same reason I sometimes run Kunge instead of Cali on 1520 alts. To save time, most accs and bracelets are garbage trash anyway

I am doing Cali only on my main, all other characters no matter the lvl doing Deska or the turtle… First i need more greater leapstone and second the price of greater leapstones is pretty high and actually i can earn more gold selling them then the marvelous ones. Plus for Deska you don’t need to use single battle item. And third let’s be honest, Caliligos is so annoying, i really don’t have any fun there. Waiting for the monkey, it’s a lot more funnier.
They dont collect sould, they’re just helping low lever friends/players. You can enter guardian raid with no limitation except for the rewards.
This theory doesn’t make sense because yoho fight is annoying and also requires battle items or more time
Who tf uses BI on Yoho… The map is the smallest possible. you will waste more time waiting the boss to re appear from phero than to find where it spowned
For the Galewind Rune, I have done that too.
This is one of the likely causes.
Or
They running cause they can blow them up so fast and are only doing it for the weekly (The material difference isn’t that much between Yoho and Deska) but yoho can be just blown up.
Or
Helping lowbies out.

well yoho is the first that gives greater sooo if it was for that reason, would have to be igrexion or nacrasena
Hell I dont Even do that Cali garbage on my main, deskas all the way and be done in 2 minutes or under per.
Price of the “new leapstone” does not worth the effort of killing cali
Guess this situation will change with ancient gear maybe? And leapstone will worth at least 3 times as much?
This happened to me a few times because I had helped out a couple of mokokos and friends that came back after awhile. They needed help with Yoho and I helped them on said 1460 character.
Then after reset hits, I would not pay attention to what guardian raid I’m q-ed into and I would be placed in a yoho mm. Leaving would be toxic since there might be new players that need Yoho help so I just stay and help dps down the Yoho!
Recently i was doing guardian quests on my main and queued to deskaluda with a 1533 ilvl character. I forgot to tick the harvest thingy off, so i had no choice but to harvest it.
There is also an annoying thing whre pf automatically sets the last guardian/chaos you did, not the highest difficulty one you have. So if you go help someone and then just absent-mindedly press mtachmake button the next day you can end up in some lower tier content. Shit happens.
Also, people can be lazy sometimes (although i’d personally just stack rested at this point - in fact i never do guardians without rested bonus).

I Didnt do the mat but sometimes the lower tier gaurdians are more gold for the leapstones. it strongly depends on current market prices though. The main reason you run gaurdian is gold so xD
there is no logical reason, the galewind rune drops without claiming soul, yoho gives a laughable amount of great honor leapstones and is literally more annoying to kill than deskaluda, the moment you are 1445 deska dies to you solo in 3min
they might carry a friend and forgot to untick the box and then just have to claim basically or lose all rewards completely for that guardian
