Someone is going out of their way to break TOS and to mess up the economy to gain an advantage while removing profits from the publisher.
Explain to me, how they deserve leniency?

I’m one of those people who believes everyone deserves a second chance.
But noone deserves a third.
So if you take all of their gold away and ban them for like a week and ban them from AH for a month, they’ll only keep playing if they really love this game.

Also, if you catch someone “stealing”, it’s not their first time stealing. it’s their first time getting caught.

There is no reason to give someone the mindset that they can do it once an if they get caught it’s minimal punishment.
This means it will happen.
If someone is afraid of their account being banned, then it’s less likely to happen.
I’m not honestly sure how anyone can advocate for non permanent bans on this?

It’s telling people, you can RMT, but if you do end up getting caught it’s a minimum punishment.

Is now ultrashield and is 1490 again
Wonder why he went to buying legit.
Because he doesn’t want his account banned I reckon.
It is a known, ugly fact in the MMO world that developers/publishers engage in whaletracking and won’t ban them because they like money more than delivering an actual good product with good player experiences.

Is not only in MMO world, this is what is the main purpose of every business is. To earn as much as possible. The old world where quality really matter is lost in every industry. The expensive clothes are garbage, the new cars has nothing to do with the old one etc

If they got irrefutable proof that someone RMT’d and not just speculate ban (ofc, I don’t support speculating that someone RMT’d and then perma banning them), then those people shouldn’t get a slap on wrist 3 day, 7 day, etc ban.

from what i read is
if you doing RMT you will get
- 1st warning = 3 days ban
- 2nd warning = 7 days ban
- 3rd warning = permannent ban
Basically 5 players in my guild RMTed to 1370 by buying between 200k-500k gold . They have not received bans, they openly admitted to it in guild chat, and they dont care that they are messing up the in game experience for everyone.
I reported them but honestly it seems like amazons stance on this is “Yea feel free to rmt in ‘small’ amounts. you probably wont be banned, and if we do decide to ban you it will be for 1-3 days.”
Obviously they have said otherwise, but from my point of view and the things ive seen, it really seems like they just dont care.
RMT is baked into the game. The game IS P2W and you can pay money DIRECTLY to the devs for power.
Since this is how the game is designed, people who circumvent the “official” system aren’t actually doing anything “that bad” in terms of the integrity of the game.
So, they don’t really deserve a perma ban. AGS just wants to convert them to the official store, that’s all.

AGS doesn’t want to ban people who are willing to spend money. They want to nudge them into the official store, obviously.
The game, by design, supports this basic idea:
Money goes in. Power comes out.
So since that idea is supported, there’s nothing inherently terrible about RMT. It’s not like insider trading in the stock market or something like that.
It’s bad, but it’s not that bad. Hope that clears things up.

It stills raises the cost of blue crystals for every other player
It still messes up the prices in the market
It still takes money out of the publishers pocket
It still supports bots and encourages them to be in the game
And probably more things I dont even realize.
Thats like saying, well. You can buy a car at a dealership for 20k. So its not really bad to go buy a stolen car for 10k.
