Why aren't the "Shard" currencies/materials rosterwide?

My problem with the game currently is with the Harmony, Life, and Honor Shards that are required for upgrading gear. These shards are considered currencies and are listed in the currency inventory. However, unlike most other currencies, these shards are not shared across the entire roster. Additionally, these shards are used to upgrade gear but are not transferrable between characters much like the other necessary materials. Destruction Stones, Guardian Stones, and Leapstones are all relevant materials for upgrading gear and are transferrable between characters in the roster provided they aren’t bound. Why don’t the shards behave the same way? Having these shards sitting on characters that don’t need to use them any more don’t do anything, and it would be nice if they were able to be used on other characters.

It would be too easy imo. You would need to play like 24 alts to be at the average ilvl. It’s the only thing that demotivates people to create 24 alts.

If that was the case, there shouldn’t even be the option to transfer any materials at all. And if people wanted to make 20+ alts just to grind up characters, then let them.

I agree, this is not a good mechanic. First, they go into the currency window where all the other currency is roster bound, and it does not let you know that shards are not roster bound. I didn’t know this and ended up wasting a bunch of bags. They shouldn’t be in the roster currency window if they are not roster wide. And if that is supposed to be the mechanic, then fine, but at least let give us the option to take them out of the currency window and sell them to merchants. Otherwise it’s just a complete waste, and it screws anybody that has a roster bound bag and uses it. OR, make a section of the currency window to indicate non roster items.
