This wont work since BOTs can spoof phone numbers
You would be with an authenticator, at least you would be making your account more secure and harder for bots (which we want). As of today I gave up on market searching since it’s so bad.
Not really, It hasn’t asked me once and I setup Steam 2FA so that if I did buy Crystals for Gold exchange I could use it but NOPE SG/AGS still makes you wait 3 days. :flips table:
you are free to to whatever you want but for me i dislike being spied upon
“spied” lmaooooo yeah bro ags wants to see your conversations with your mom
There is phone number verification when you log into Steam. Game is on the Steam platform. It is not enough to have phone verification, you need to have it tied to your social security number. However, I would rather quit playing games than give such sensitive info to crooked corporations such as Amazon. Phone number they can have it, since I have multiple. But SSN, fuck no.
What they can do with your Social security number tho?
Leak it. Sell it to third parties without my consent. Etc. Don’t tell me it has not happened until now, cause that’s BS.
And that’s the main concern. The fewer people and entities that know less about me, the better. Privacy is of utmost important in a free society. And I should have the right to choose what I reveal about myself, and what not, according to the setting/circumstances.
Having to give sensitive information about myself just so that I can enjoy a leisure activity such as gaming is not worth it. I can understand Koreans since a lot of them view gaming as a profession, from which they put food on the table, but I don’t view gaming is a profession. Nor most Western players do.
Yeah but what they can do if they sell it, what would happen to you? i mean whats the worst possible situation?
Also, Westerners generally put a lot of thought regarding their privacy. Koreans and Asians in general less so. Western laws are designed to protect privacy. To implement something similar as Koreans have in the West, you would need to change laws and in some cases even Constitutions (which requires popular referendum). This is a LOOOONG process. It can take years to implement the process alone, but if the mentality is not there to accept this change, then it will take you generations.
So rather than working with wishful thinking scenarios, either we sort this out with what we have and can legally do, or just drop the ball and move to greener pastures.
I just want to know what can happen to you if they “sell” your info, you will receive spam on your mail?
done same still not working
Having your personal data leaked to unknown sources can mean a lot of things. Someone can use it to harm you. Someone who has your personal info can apply for credit under your name, can file taxes, can get medical services. It damages your finances and it costs a lot of time and money to rectify. Criminals can use your identity for criminal activity as well.
On top of that, there is the psychological factor to take into account. So if you think that identity theft means that you get some spam emails sent to you, I would suggest seeking some help.
They can really do this with just your name and that info? you don’t need to have your ID and sign it by youself? lol sounds like your country sucks
You are just paranoid lol, idk where you live but sounds like a terrible place if you are that paranoid
It depends on the country where you live. By identity theft I am referring to a wider array of personal information. But in general, pretty much anyone that knows a thing or two about privacy protection advises you to give as little personal information as possible where not explicitly required.
If you think providing your SSN to play a game is worth it, then more power to you. I don’t. And probably most people won’t either, but what do I know.
Where I live? I live in the west mate. Just like you. And I worked in frigging customer service where I dealt with cases of fraud due to identity theft. Paranoia is common among these people since your ability to trust others diminishes when you are dealing with identity theft that is causing you distress.
You don’t know how it feels until you yourself experience it.
Its okay, i respect your opinion bro i just think you are paranoid and that’s not a healthy way to live your life uwu
I am not paranoid, I just know what can happen from what other people experienced. While I live in the West, I am an Eastern European boomer. We dealt with regimes that wanted to know everything about us to use it against us. So we learned to be very careful about our private life, even though we no longer live in a totalitarian regime.
Westerners who never knew what a shitty regime looks like have it worse and are way more careless with their personal info. Which is why they have so many issues with fraud and identity theft.
The more appropriate word is prudence. Not paranoia. As you don’t reveal to anyone in your city where you live, or invite any stranger into your house, same attitude should apply when it comes to your privacy security. If you don’t protect it and take it seriously, no one will.
too late for 2FA as it would show how dead the game is.
Sorry to tell you this, but they already have your information, lol
Can you give me your drug dealers number? xD in order to type in here, you have to own amazon account. To get twitch drops you have to link your twitch account to their ags website. So you telling me you didn’t give your phone number to twitch for 2fa to watch your favourite streamers(its understandable some people dont use twitch), but you telling me you didnt buy a single thing from amazon? You didnt give them your phone number? For custom clearence you didnt give them your social security number? I dont know which country you living in but here where i live its a must. And they have all my info. So it doesnt matter anymore. If we gonna lose half of player base along with bots im ok with it. I dont wanna suffer anymore because of some “im shadow, im unknown” andies.
