Why can't we use mobile phone authentication on lost ark?

Anti-cheat system is crucial in today’s gaming industry.
AGS has done terrible job on eradicating bots. In game market has already crashed and AH is not even working in NA West server due to bots.
With that being said, YOU GUYS SHOULD IMPLEMENT MOBILE AUTHENTICATION ON EVERY ACCOUNTS.
This is by far the best way to fight against chinese bot factories. What is the reason you guys are hesitating? Is it because these bot factories are indeed beneficial on AGS’s end? ( I heard these bot factories use royal crystals to boost up the growth )
PUBG also didn’t do their best to fight against bots because they actually earned a lot of money from these bot accounts as they bought the game again whenever they got banned. See what happened to them. No one plays PUBG anymore because they got sick of bots
This will happen to Lost ark as well.

Come on AGS. Smilegate made this great game and all you guys had to do was keep the same system they had in Korea. But you guys are ruining the game. This is why you guys can never succeed in gaming industry

This wont work since BOTs can spoof phone numbers

You would be with an authenticator, at least you would be making your account more secure and harder for bots (which we want). As of today I gave up on market searching since it’s so bad.

Not really, It hasn’t asked me once and I setup Steam 2FA so that if I did buy Crystals for Gold exchange I could use it but NOPE SG/AGS still makes you wait 3 days. :flips table:

you are free to to whatever you want but for me i dislike being spied upon

“spied” lmaooooo yeah bro ags wants to see your conversations with your mom

There is phone number verification when you log into Steam. Game is on the Steam platform. It is not enough to have phone verification, you need to have it tied to your social security number. However, I would rather quit playing games than give such sensitive info to crooked corporations such as Amazon. Phone number they can have it, since I have multiple. But SSN, fuck no.

What they can do with your Social security number tho?

Leak it. Sell it to third parties without my consent. Etc. Don’t tell me it has not happened until now, cause that’s BS.

And that’s the main concern. The fewer people and entities that know less about me, the better. Privacy is of utmost important in a free society. And I should have the right to choose what I reveal about myself, and what not, according to the setting/circumstances.

Having to give sensitive information about myself just so that I can enjoy a leisure activity such as gaming is not worth it. I can understand Koreans since a lot of them view gaming as a profession, from which they put food on the table, but I don’t view gaming is a profession. Nor most Western players do.

Yeah but what they can do if they sell it, what would happen to you? i mean whats the worst possible situation?

Also, Westerners generally put a lot of thought regarding their privacy. Koreans and Asians in general less so. Western laws are designed to protect privacy. To implement something similar as Koreans have in the West, you would need to change laws and in some cases even Constitutions (which requires popular referendum). This is a LOOOONG process. It can take years to implement the process alone, but if the mentality is not there to accept this change, then it will take you generations.

So rather than working with wishful thinking scenarios, either we sort this out with what we have and can legally do, or just drop the ball and move to greener pastures.

I just want to know what can happen to you if they “sell” your info, you will receive spam on your mail?

done same still not working

Having your personal data leaked to unknown sources can mean a lot of things. Someone can use it to harm you. Someone who has your personal info can apply for credit under your name, can file taxes, can get medical services. It damages your finances and it costs a lot of time and money to rectify. Criminals can use your identity for criminal activity as well.

On top of that, there is the psychological factor to take into account. So if you think that identity theft means that you get some spam emails sent to you, I would suggest seeking some help.

They can really do this with just your name and that info? you don’t need to have your ID and sign it by youself? lol sounds like your country sucks

You are just paranoid lol, idk where you live but sounds like a terrible place if you are that paranoid
