Gems which can be shared across roster (Do Boss rush on multiple char of the same class = profit, faster leveled gems), Additional Accessories to have first choice.

Most efficient route, since u never need to get gems / u can transfer them between same class, and some people enjoy 1 class and never get bored, not me though.

Most games Iāve always just preferred learning one class and it makes it easier to do dailies on a class much more enjoyable as well.
Now we have almost unlimit books to reach to +9 on multiple engravings, but in the first month it had some weight.
I play on 3 gunlancers. I like the class and it eases the daily since I have my basic rotation in my hand. Next Iāll make 3 destroyers for the same reason. I have a few other classes but they are just for lopang since I donāt really enjoy them.
i play 3 sorcs. i used my first two powerpasses on other classes that i donāt enjoy very much and found myself wanting to play my main more so i compensated by making more sorcs
another relatively small point people miss is that you can share skins even if they are subclass-bound
- You can farm and share Gems without rerolling them
- Some classes are more efficient in doing Daily Content
- Itās easier to play your Main as an Alt
My recommandation:
Donāt do it - super try hard - play every class, learn there weaknesses and strengths - enjoy them - know how to counter them in PvP - learn which Buffs and Debuffs they have for Raids
Much more enjoyable then just playing like 6x Zerkers and doing the same stuff 6x a day for example
I have 4 Destroyers, why? I love the class thatās it.
You save resources from sharing gems, more likely to drop good gear for your class, and whathever your main stops using, can be passed to your alt. And eventually alts who go to a new tier of items can also pass their gear to a different alt too
You can change gems between classes.
Combine 3zerker gems and will change to your class etc. re-roll also changes to your class.
Real reason is engravings for me.
I have +12 desperate salvation and +12 heavy armor. Makes it dirt cheap to 3x3 engraving my alt.
Currently have 4 bard, 1 pld, 1 dps
Dps goes away to another support next powerpass.
I have 3 bard, one paladin and one deathblade, i plan to delete paladin and deathblade to have 3 bard and 3 artist.
The game it limit yourself and made you to have atleast 6 characters, not everyone like to play 6 different classes and people donāt want to āwasteā time creating, leveling, expending gold to see if they will like the other class play style to become a alt.
I created a Paladin only because he is support but i think his support build it too boring, deathblade i tried to follow a youtuber advice in playing with other classes in the beginning becuase i donāt like being DPS in group content, so i will delete both of them when artist come out.
I see people saying that you can transfer the gems, well itās true but i think itās a pain in the ass to tranfer the gems all the time.
In the 1415+ you can only buy the legendary class engravings book one time and use in all the alts of same class.
Just liking the playstyle and sharing accesories/gems
Atm im playing with no invested alts, and if i had to push one id probably go for 2nd SH
i like playing support and only 1 female support class so i got 4 bards. sorc 5th and arcana will be 6th chars im gana get to 1415+
I think like you, Iām creating different classes for alts because I like to learn to play more classes and have a change
But itās cheaper for engravings and gems if you have just one class, and itās easier as well, you donāt learn to play different classes
A lot of people mention Gems but I think that cheaper Legendary engraving books is another reason to have same class for all of your characters. Iāll give you an example.
My main is a gunlancer and These two engravings are great for this class: Barricade and Stabilized Status. Their legendary books are also very cheap. Letās say that I get the 20 legendary books for these two engravings. If my alt was a sorc, the investment on barricade and stabilized status would have been terrible since sorc does not use those engravings, but if all my alts are Gunlancer, they can use the +12 Barricade and Stabilized Status engravings.
If you have different classes, then you must invest in the Legendary Grudge and Cursed Doll engraving books since they are used for all DPS and they are expensive.
Too lazy to learn other classes
Because u need 6 char to run 6 time abyssal dungeons or Argos you can not doo it 6 times on only you main. This is stupid 
I play 6 diff myself and i love the playstyle of all of them Arti, Db, Bard, Glancer, Sorc and Pala, but it makes sense with some of the replys here with the books and gems, thank you for helping me figure this out haha
Some players are masochists. I really tried to enjoy my duplicate alts because itās cheaper and more efficient but I absolutely dread doing their dailies. Theyāre at the very bottom of my list 
I doubt Iād still be playing if I made 12 sorceresses or shadowhunters
For me its because I dont WANT to play alts, the game just forces me to. So all I did was make 5 carbon copies of my main so i could very quickly and mindlessly repeat certain things several times a day with the least effort required.
