BDO is missing PVE that doesn’t feel like an ultimate chore. They need fun changing repeatable dungeons which will also help those trying to avoid PVP.
Nobody should be required to waste their time fighting for a spot to upgrade their gear. The PVE is already boring enough, making most want to use their buff and get out. People don’t need the added stress.
This is coming from someone who won a majority of their spots too. All around boring to waste part of my buff to kill some other player multiple times because they are trying to upgrade as well.
Also, enhancing in that game is a complete joke. If you think Lost Ark is bad you haven’t played BDO.
So ive played black desert and this game. If people think Lost Ark is pay to win and has bad honing rates, they have never played BDO. That game is ridiculous with the pay to win that just to get 1 piece of gear to tier 4 might cost you 100 dollars. I love BDO and Lost Ark but my god I cringe when people say lost ark is pat to win. Go play BDO then tell me.
Exactly. People think Lost Ark honing rates are bad. My god BDO is the worst. Also wayyyyy more pay to win then this game ever was. Imagine failing a hone in Lost Ark with the same percent chance and then instead of nothing happening you downgrade a level. That is BDO.
Exactly. BDO is ridiculous with the pay to win. Ive spent maybe 50-60 bucks on this game and im at 1427 GS but BDO i spent about 200-300 dollars iirc and still had garbage gear.
Yeah, they need a revamp to that enhancing system if they want to bring back more players. I don’t ever see that happening so they will forever be at their small niche player base.
That would literally make cron stones useless which is literally the biggest $$$ for them when it comes to the store but i’m sure you know how to run the game better than they do
Getting at least 1 or 2 tier 4 pets, in the end you’ll need 5x t4 pets anyways
$10 per t1 pet (there are sales and packages every now and then for higher tier pets or discounts), smash 2 t1 pets together for a chance at t2 or t3, continue to smash for a chance at t4. You can spend extra for a gosphy pet that increases your chance for a higher tier pet.
→ If you choose NOT to buy pets, your grind sessions would consist of 50% killing stuff and 50% spamming R key to pick everything up, or waiting for ur t1 pets to pick stuff up
Buy a tent for $40:
Gives you remote villa buffs (decent when you are grinding and a must if you’re pvping) and other tent buffs, small amount of storage
→ If you choose NOT to buy a tent, your grind sessions start with you running to villa (only available on one side of the map) and buying a buff, then running all the way back to your grind spot.
Buy some amount of maids or inventory slots or weight:
Seriously you cannot grind a full hour without needing to dump off weight with maids if you haven’t bought any weight. Inventory slots becomes an issue but I’ve mostly f2p’d that and its not as obnoxious as weight.
$12 for each maid, $6-$30 for each weight (PER CHARACTER)
→ If you choose NOT to buy maids, inventory slots, or weight, your grind session will end in about 10-30mins depending your grind speed where you’ll have to either find your horse and dump things on your horse, or go back to a town to dump things off. Assuming optimal grind with loot scroll + agris
“Subscription” buffs Value pack ($15/mo)-> extra inventory and storage slots, extra weight, extra exp gain, extra silver gained from market place (tax reduction), and arguably very important bartering buffs (a specific life skill) Old moon ($12/15days)-> extra exp, lets you reset/change skills and addons for free, lets you buy villa buff without a villa scroll (generally you need to run to a villa on one side of the map (Mediah/Valencia) and buy a 7 day pass to use villa buff) Kamasylve Blessing ($12/15days) → energy recovery (life skills), drop rate buff, maid weight limit buff, central warehouse weight limit buff
→ If you choose not to buy any of these subscription buffs, well I think it’s pretty self explanatory, you need to spend more time/money on the convenience side of things.
To get started on Lost Ark:
Beat server queue
“Subscription” buffs Crystalline Aura ($10 or free?/mo) → saves you silver on teleporting and ocean liners, extra 2 bifrost points is huge, remote repair/storage/mail with pet
→ The biggest diff between Lost Ark’s Crystalline Aura and BDO’s Value pack is that Crystalline aura is available to purchase with blue crystals and blue crystals can be bought with gold in abundance. Value packs are to be listed as is on the marketplace and purchased with silver, and if you’re lucky you get to buy one every 2-3 months, generally a 10k+ queue
Mount? ($17) You’re given a horse as a starter mount for free and you can earn more mounts later on through questing and events and achievements/collectibles. SG is taking a step in normalizing mount speed so this is very low on the priority list only if you care about racing another dude through MSQ.
I think that’s it… Anyone can log on and start playing Lost Ark, everyone starts on the same footing, the only big difference between your starting experience and a p2w starting experience is Crystalline aura. Compared to BDO, if you don’t have pets, tent, maids/inventory/weight, you’re literally not playing the same game as everyone else.
Go back to BDO Grind your ass up and start blowing some accessories. after your desprate times you will do a pen roulet. then you will swap back to Lost ark
Because this game actually has fun and challenging PvE conte t and doesnt force PvP doen your throat, and gear upgrades has a pity system and doesnt decimate my accessories when i try to upgrade them.
And i dont have to sit grinding one spot of mobs for hours on end to make money.
Black Desert vs. Lost Ark for me is that Lost Ark seems to have better content imo… I quit BDO because I simply got bored of playing, had 8 or 9 characters above 50? I don’t even remember it was a good while ago. And all I ever saw as far as community went in BDO, were people fishing en masse.
