Why I decided to quit Lost ark After having 3 characters in T3, and having completed the most recent "Argos" content

I don’t understand why people keep making these “I’m quitting posts”.
WHO CARES
Nobody knows who you are.
The players on your friends list don’t care that you are gone.
The people you associate with in discord don’t care that you left Lost Ark.
So what makes you think that the entire community here in the forums wants to read your manifesto.
If you are leaving then just leave, your opinions about the game and your feedback regarding it are irrelevant because you won’t be around to see the changes made, if any.
No one here is going to beg you to stay…

Except one problem with your analogy

WoW tokens.

Buy your heroic runs, buy your drops, buy your mythic +15 chests, buy everything.

And you pay a subscription for the pleasure of ActiBlizz bending you over for that.

I’m sorry to tell you, ActiBlizz doesn’t respect you, your money or your time.

They want you to keep spending and just remember their dirtbag CEO thinks “you’re all stupid”

Keep feeding that abusive trash his fat salary til Microsoft takes over, Stockholm syndrome is very real folks.

@SmolEdie

Uhm. Isnt this the same with honing mats and stuff in Lost Ark right now?

Go play Runescape if you don’t wanna interact with people, not time gated and you can farm a boss indefinite amount of times!

Point being one is subscription game that is doing that, the other being a F2P game where you have plenty of ways of catching up without spending a dime if you’re dedicated and patient enough.

To some in WoW? They’ll never see a Mythic 15+ chest or the inside of a heroic raid, never mind getting the loot.

WoW wasnt the first mmo amd it copied a lot of stuff from Asherons call 2.

Heck even it’s open world PvP was a watered down version of DaoCs Realm versus Realm system minus the Frontiers, Realm bonuses and Relic Capture system.

Really weird when someone starts criticizing “end game” when they’ve yet to even do a Legion raid. The games been out for a little over a month and people want to judge it against a other games that have been on the market for years in terms of content within the NA/EU version. As if they can’t Youtube and see some raids from the other versions and see the mechanics are vastly more engaging than their MMO of choice. To each their own though, it’s probably better that we can get those who favor Western-style MMOs off the region so as to protect the integrity of this region from further unnecessary changes.

Screenshots or it didnt happen

Hehe, that dirty troll comment.

It copied a lot from all the other MMOs before it just as those took influence from MUDs.

  • It copied the weapon skill gain system from EQ and never used it.
  • You might recall the game had different languages. That was a fun thing from EQ.
  • The faction reputation system was taken from EQ then bastardized into loot grinds.
  • It technically copied Raids from EQ as that was the first visual game to have them.
  • It took the faction PvP from games like DAoC / Anarchy Online.
  • The skill tree system wasn’t even new. I think it first showed up in Civ.
  • Take your pick when it comes to arena PvP.

Netcode is the only thing I give WoW credit for. It brought MMO PvP to a semi-serious state.
MUD PvP was decent but it went to hell for a good 10 years when they went visual interface.

Nooo… please don’t go. Lost Ark needs you to stay afloat and not start taking on water…

so you are quitting because you dont want to join a guild? rofl mmos arent your thing bro. Aslo pugging every content isnt that bad i did it so far no problems.

Looking for a guild is not difficult. No one actually thinks it is, unless they can’t help themselves. Join your server discord and look for one there, as people are always recruiting. If you fail to join a guild or think its too hard to join a guild, then enjoy ‘LFR’ as you say, because thats entirely on you, not helping yourself.

Yes, guilds have a cap size and progress = contribution from guildies. That is the smallest of expectations and if you’re an active player, that isn’t a problem.

3rd paragraph is stupid. You’re comparing a guild and their expectations (which are perfectly reasonable) to Amazon/SG. The two are not the same and this is more like apples to broccoli.

Yea and whats the problem with grinding? A lot of people have no problem playing alts (although tedious, especially 2 guardian raids per character) whats the problem? They’ve admitted the 1340-1370 dead zone was a mistake and we all see it as a money grab for whales/people who want to swipe to fill Amazon’s greed, better things are to come for honing. And also, if you’re one of the ones who quit because of honing, you would have quit either way in the long run as it gets much worse.

Specify the youtuber/streamer’s name otherwise this just falls on deaf ears.

You’re comparing the more difficult raids like Legion and Argos to…a 10man raid in WoW? No one cares at all about WoW raids anymore man. There’s a reason why playerbase has fallen drastically in retail WoW, its because the raids are not memorable, they don’t give you a good feeling or make you hyped to do them. Most people who play MMO are casual and only the 1% actually have a raid team set up weekly to do the WoW raids and complete them. No one gave a damn about Castle Nathria. Why is that?

Just say you prefer WoW and FFX, lol. Go back and play those games then. Most people who have played WoW and have played LOA can differentiate between the boss/raid fights. Even streamers/youtubers that have played WoW for years say this, even boasting that the boss fights are actually fun and ‘better’ than WoW/FFX.

Not replying to this paragraph as its pointless. Personal opinion is yours.

No, you don’t get a dmg meter because you don’t need it. Thats like saying you need DBM and other addons to help you play the game. They aren’t needed and they would ruin the game more than anything. Addons aren’t meant for every game, buddy. You’re just so used to a damage meter and DBM that you can’t possibly play another game without it in the longrun because you need things to help you validate yourself.

Another stupid paragraph aside from class scheduled releases (which they’ve stated, theyll speed up) so mute point. Movin on.

Yes because its shown in KR that they can have balanced classes upon release and tweak it appropriately. The fact you even typed this paragraph out shows your lack of knowledge in the game/of KR.

Anyways, adios. Have fun with your FFX/WoW.

Oh it did use the weapon gain system in vanilla, every Warlock and Mage player will remember it because of one handed off hand - staff swapping was a pain in the rear as you’d spend a few hours grinding the weapon skill up to max so you could use them at full effectiveness.

It was even worse for Warriors who wanted to swap to dual wielding or 2h because they had to level them all or their accuracy on attacks would be greatly affected when raiding.

People hated it so they scrapped it.

There are only two types of players that will survive in our version.

1.
Pay-to-Win, with unlimited money.

2.
Nolifers, with unlimited time.

Average people will fall behind or eventually burn out.

@zyzolol agree with you 100%, and thats not the goal that should be aimed for.

Its kind of disgusting that once you start to dig into a game a bit, beneath the semi fun story and flashy cool character skills, is a darker predatory system designed to try to manipulate you into opening your wallet.

Good thing about classes coming out balanced: it will happen because they have already been released and tested in other regions

I recall it using the system but I don’t recall it mattering. Maybe cuz I was a Rogue at start.
They dropped it very quickly just like the language concept. It’s like they were going for a more rounded and world building MMO and just decided to put it all behind raid gear instead.

Dropping languages made me sad. They were pointless but fun in EQ. Speaking Dwarven to a Dwarf or Elvish to an Elf both of which got their languages naturally. You could also talk trash in Elder Dragon to others because many players didn’t bother to learn exotic ones.

It just ended up being another grind that nobody liked doing which was unfortunate as the way it was implemented was kinda sloppy. Wand grinding being the absolute worst.

I did like the Languages and that was a great take away from EQ and added a RP element to the game, but again, sloppy implementation which led to them axing it instead of just making it fun flavour.
