I made a review post, you can see it on my list of posts and I asked same question there but it looked like I didn’t really get too much of an answer.
Why exactly did we get a version of the game not the same as the other regions that are successful? I figured it’d be easy to just give us the full game.
I think someone mentioned we have to wait for stuff to be released, but why wait on release when content is already out in other places?
And also why do people want to wait 2+ months for stuff when you can go play other regions? What makes NA/EU so good when it’s behind schedule?
Yes but that version was 2019 when it was new, it’s 2022 so how does it make sense to revert to 2019 Lost Ark when there’s a new and improved 2022 Lost Ark.
Because the game just released. I don’t understand why people have such a hard time understanding this.
Yes, let’s just boost everyone to the end. Then what? Release Valtan and people cry again how we can’t do Valtan? Boost them again and repeat until there’s no content.
Realize that the grind is part of the content in this game. Play any version and it’s the exact same. Once you get to Argos, you can defeat it in 15 minutes. Guess what you are doing after? Grinding again on alts
I played BDO, i’m almost full TET and blew up thousands of dollars of stuff only as a F2P who no lifed it. I like the grind, and comparatively Lost Ark is no where near BDO level of grind and upgrading.
I simply only ask because there’s nothing to do, I hit 1350 in my review and did some Giant’s Hearts and 100% stuff but then logged off. Running alts makes no sense without all classes, pushing content makes no sense without all the content, etc.
Seems kinda weird to release a half finished game when the full one is out no?
ALSO to your point:
Why would this matter? In those servers you can start now and boost and T3 onwards end up teaching you the game as it seems to be where Lost Ark found it’s success in KR, people will still go back and do T1/T2 if they want to just to see the content.
Who are we to not even allow them to access content, just open it up and let people explore and maybe less people will be upset.
When Dragon Nest, Tera, Soul Worker, BnS, Maplestory, Maplestory 2 were released on the West, did we have 100% of the content? No.
This is just how it is. You can complain all you want but they already handicapped T1 and T2 for players. If you played Season 1 and 2 Lost Ark you would know. Season 1 and 2 lost ark, T1 and T2 would have been the same enhancement rate as T3 right now with low honing chances and low mats. Mat islands didn’t even exist and Guardian Raids were way harder.
If players cannot even get past T1 and T2 now, they wouldn’t survive T3. Hence why would see the complaints in T3 right now. Any vet of the game who’s played the other versions with low honing chances are used to these fail rates because this is how the game is designed.
Even with the increase honing %, it’s only up to 1415. What about the future when people are going to 1500+ with no honing increase like it is in KR? They’re probably going to quit.
Because they can either spent the time localize everything then release it. or they can release some of it and while you are gearing up they finish the rest and release those.
So you want to start playing now? Or wait a year for everything to be done and then play?
Plus it makes financial sense for them to release as early as possible.
Not all content may be localized yet.
It makes more financial sense for AGS to release in parts
Some players may like experiencing the game in t1 and t2 as opposed to korea were you basically start t3
All of those games are dead though in the West, I think the formulae of delaying release and not putting out all the content is handicapping Eastern titles from even succeeding here.
Like people say Westerners can’t handle the grind, but I find WoW to be grindy now a days too. People like the grind, I just think the packaging is very poorly done if they are going to release things in that way.
Who knows, maybe Lost Ark can survive the next couple months of them slowly putting in content but man does it feel so bad to not have all the content out.
Ah well, glad it’s F2P at least so no harm no foul
Yes, I would honestly like to see us caught up to do content without guides too.
Although that might cause players to complain even more because it would raise the difficulty.
I think the problem with these games is that it’s not for everyone and most western players are not willing to grind or dislike some form of P2W. Reality is that these korean mmos will always be somewhat P2W. I heard even WoW is P2W these days
The only answer to this is developers being greedy. Even SG who thinks their pre T3 content is trash and wants people to speedrun through T1-T2 couldn’t resist to not launch the game in its current state, because they think they’ll make more money if we have to go through the same dogshit they already experimented on people on 3 different servers.
The reality is, they could have launched the game in its current perfect KR form, and no one would have felt it was a bad decision and people overall would have been happier, but greed comes first, and more money has to be made.
They could easily make money from skin sales and whales the same way, but we have to pretend that we are a gacha game and be 2 years behind the original server and drool over all their releases instead of being synced up which would require less development as well, and wait to be caught up with staggered “new” content updates, if we even catch up this year at all.
lies or dramas are not going to matter soon. “average” folk will reach T3 soon, and since they likely gonna delay Valtan and honing changes with it, at that point majority will be 2 content patches behind and still few weeks working towards Argos even with improved honing. Being forced to be 2 tiers behind in a MMO is something unheard of in the west. Whoever designed this “roadmap” maybe knows how to make money quickly, but i had higher hopes for LA longevity and direction
Each COUNTRY has its own version. For many reasons, for example:
Laws are different in each COUNTRY…that means each region/countries version is edited to follow each region/countries laws
Languages are different each counties version…this also means each region/countries version is edited to follow each countries language
What is successful in one region/country may not be popular in another.

See the previous answers
You are assuming that everyone can go play in different regions/countries but if they don’t speak the language or read the language then back to waiting for the game edited that you can read or understand …ect…
Look I have a picture too!
(Screenshot from reddit, updates of the honing rates in korea, by a Korean player)
Someone said earlier though that T1/2 honing rates came with argos and I have no clue about that and don’t make assumptions.
Now, the game director said these buffs came too late in KR, so they’ll surely come quicker here, maybe with valtan.
we will probably know more with the road map. Soon™
Exactly. It is a FACT that honing rates came when 1475 content was out. I have repeated myself many times on these forums but people refuse to believe it despite multiple Korean streamers/youtubers claiming the same thing.
The honing is a catch up mechanic for NEW players to get them to 1415, not to end game. NA wants honing catch up mechanics to reach END game.
