Honestly sometimes I launch the game start watching something on netflix and completely forget that I launched the game
EAC needs some optimization for sure
I recently upgraded my entire gaming rig. On the old setup, even though Lost Ark was still on an SSD, it took me 5 minutes and 13 seconds to go from pressing “play” to getting to the character select screen.
On my new rig, it takes 52 seconds. I’m okay with 52 seconds.
Because it’s good ol unreal 3
It’s because of Anti-Cheat. It’s likely doing a directory / kernel level scan at client startup in order to detect any modified files, etc. Sucks, but it is what it is.
or just remove it as it’s proven to be so useless and it’s there just for decoration purpose? all it’s doing is slow down the game and nothing else regarding bots and cheaters in general.
I’m not =P
I didn’t buy a 3.5GB Read M.2 to wait for something to load.
A whole minute when I don’t even see loading screens in other games. =D
That’s fair. I’m still happy with 52 seconds though.
to people who blame it on game/engine … ru client was staring way faster than this one
defo something with EAC
Easy anty cheat… its easy cause botters can bypass it easily
Boot it up

Has nothing to do with UE3, they have UE3 source code they can modify it.
It’s def EAC, probably does some anti-cheat wololo which doesn’t stop RMT nor bots BUT makes you wait at least 5 mins for the game to boot. Profit? Not found.
Never seen a UE3 mmo or game in general that booted quikly.
My new PC has the newer style of SSD and it loads everything instantly…except this game.
that feeling
Also, why can’t I make a new thread? I guess you have to post xxxx first?
This doesn’t mean anything, you should work on logic and critical thinking. I never saw a flying bird therefore birds can’t fly.
LA launch way slower than most game, has nothing to do with UE3. If you have ever build UE you will see it base line launch time is great, 5~10 seconds on a hard drive. LA just stupidly preload 3~4 GB into system memory, but that is not the real issue, the issue is it terminate itself when it shouldn’t.
It’s not just EAC the game engine is 16 years old and doesn’t address multicore processors well. Unreal Engine 3 is just old as fuck dudes. We’re in 2022.
It has nothing to do with multithreading. Loading resources into system memory is purely IO bound, a single core could handle that easily.
Alright then what’s going on? Why does Lost Ark take much longer than the average game to boot on modern systems?
There are a few possible combination of scenario
- EAC doing something weird, maybe doing checksum sequentially in stead of bulk paralell.
- There are just too many unnecessary assets preload at launch.
- EAC just scan shits
Either EAC is shit and/or they are lazy to optimize launch, and/or code is bad and they don’t want to touch it.
well fuck that shit hope they fix it
Possible but, unlikely, all i hope for is that they will change AFK and disconnect won’t terminate the game.
