I main deadeye and knowing beforehand all the youtubers rank them at the bottom and i remember them being at the bottom of class to play polls. So anyways i played it and boy i sure wish i listened because they are not flashy, low damage output, selfish playstyle, and basically a knock off version of gunslinger.
Will they remain bad or get buff in the future and be able to do at least 1/4 dps of lets say… a bard?
People are gonna tell you a bunch of BS about how all classes are good, blah, blah, blah.
I mained DE to 1340 and I switched after doing a few Oreha Preveza runs. It’s just not worth it, maybe if you know the game well like the back of your hand it’s good, but deff not for newer players.
The class is simply bad for the given game’s content. The requirement to be in both melee range and back position is awful. It’s a melee class w/out the support.
At Ilvl Bosses’ basic AOE just eat away your life to where you’re constantly potting, w/out grudge mind you. Bosses like Igrexion and Albion have a lot of unavoidable minor aoe in melee range. B/c of the melee and back requirement you’re expected to take eat this dmg, yet the class is ridiculously squishy.
To add insult to injury, your attacks push you back and or have long animations. So attack while you’re in a safe spot only for your ending attack to push you into a red spot. While stuff like this can be overcome with practice, it doesn’t change the fact it’s downtime on the boss, aka a major dps loss.
I main Deadeye from very beggining, currently at 1385 itlvl with enhanced weapon build and i don’t feel like i am underperforming on any content. Yes, you might not do as much dmg as Sorc or Berserker and you need to do much more than those classes, but if you build right and rotate your skill properly you might get even mvp from time to time. If locking in animation is an issue for you, grab more swiftness or add Sprit Absorbtion engraving and keep your spacebar only to cancel animations. With plenty of movement skills you might easly avoid patterns without using space. For now, even without support finishing igrexion with 0 or 1 green potion without support in party.
Anyway, hope that Deadeye get some buffs to be more rewarding at least
Deadeye is very strong, it justs needs to be played perfectly at all times to deal the damage, this will come naturally as you play but if you re not ready to always tryhard maybe its not the class for you.
About gunslinger, its much easier to deal optimal damage with her and from range without back attacks but in my opinion deadeye is smoother when mastered and his raw damage is probably higher with the correct engravings.
Have you tried pistoleer? I’ve been rocking pistoleer since T2. I’m currently 1360 and have been mvp on most my runs as a pistoleer. If you build it right you can compete with the best of them easily. Removes the back and range requirements and is generally really fun.
DE pvp is great too with the mobility and ability to fight at all ranges.
The Deadeye is a tougher class but that’s why I enjoy it. Anyone can look good playing the easy classes but if you’re up for the challenge and properly build your character you shouldn’t have issues
My main alt is a pistoleer deadeye. Once I got him to T3 and the right engravings I’m smashing dps. Getting mvps with 47% of damage done vs zerkers and sorcs… but it wasn’t until I got the engravings I needed that I started doing that much damage.
