This is the question I and many other players need an answer to. If not server merge then maybe character transfer or something? I know amazon doesnt have the technology, but what are the future plans? Are you planning on fixing the situation we are in or wait until everyone leaves?

Nope. Region merge is not possible and wont be in the near future.

What makes you think everyone started playing at launch? I started 2 months later, saw 1.2m active players, how the hell was I supposed to know that game is full of bots and euw was made later. Crawl back to your cave that question wasnt directed to you. You dont have the answers people need. This has to come from devs. Also other games have had region merges so technology exists.

I don’t think it will happen any time in the near future, in a few weeks after “monitoring the situation” the second server merges will happen, after that potentially a third merge, leaving only 1 server in EUW.
If we (you and me) are one of the remaining 10 players in EUW, I hope they might consider manually transferring the 10 rosters before closing EUW and maybe renaming EUC to EU
Developing the tech takes time and money, I don’t know if it is worth for them to merge both EU regions (and the merge itself will probably take longer than yesterday’s maintenance)
I dont think situation is severe enough for them to rush those things, but I wish to know if they are even considering it. I dont think its going to die within a year or 2, but eventually it will since everyone is rolling euc.
When I started there were tons of people running luterra dungeons and stuff so I thought I chose a right server, but when people start playing in euw rn, it doesnt take them long to realise its dead region and roll over to euc. No new players, no future.
Victim blaming much? The entire responibility for eveything lies with AGS and SG, noone else.

I absolutely hate when they say this as its them implying to transfer regions requires some mystical technology that the gaming world has never seen. Region transfering is eons old now and seriously not that difficult.

I stayed on EUC but the 1st month was absolute hell. You either have a short memory or you played on NA.

Server mergers are better than region mergers. Euw has a small economy, more benevolent towards the new player. Euc has the most vitiated and unhealthy economy, more rtm, more people from day 1 to the top of climbing vertically and rmt for a tube.

that is what i am saying, i would have waited even 2 months if it meant i would not play in a dead region in the future, and yes i am from EUC.
so you did a good job, you didn’t have an exodus moment and you stayed put gj, now all that left for euw suffer because of their impatience, if people were back then to wait it out a bit because more players will leave the game that is normal and THEN join playing, they would not need now to cry that they were “forced” to move to euw.
They could just close euc and leave only euw open. You liquidate the large region bot problem and funnel new people to euw.
The population didnt start to drop for almost 2 months. Im sympathetic to their cause.

they wanted instant gratification and now they suffer the long term effects of their decision period.

Just to add. Not only what u wrote but also when i started to play i had EU West preselected. Usually games preselects servers that are closest to you, but not AGS. They just scammed players that started to play after EU West was created.
