Will Reflux mage consider Raid Captain?

I accidentally find this Eligian Touch tripod which will increase 20% movement speed. With Nightmare flower set seems Raid captain will be a decent choice? If you have 1100 swiftness you get about 18% damage increase which is better than hit master.

O.o i have no clue what “redlux” is (no reference to a build called that) but a sorceres dont go for swiftness as main stat or for eligian touch skill .

Typo…

You could go for reflux swiftness sorc but you probably won’t take keen blunt since you might not reach the 60% crit sweet spot.

But will still work.

I main a reflux sorc and made swiftness/speed a priority. She’s such a slow ass and is so much more enjoyable to play with some speed. I mainly play solo so having more speed is nice. I could see if one is always in a group that they may not care since other players can be the focal point of the bosses.

You can go for whatever you want … that does not mean you should … you are going to be trash compared to a proper reflux build .

This is not ideal at this time, and probably will never be. But… In the future when we’re able to craft the support set that gives speed buff and you’re able to get the set that provides mana regen or offset Elgain’s Touch mana regen reduction, it may be viable. As Refulx, the mana consumption is too much to sustain the use of Elgain’s Touch at this point in the game.

He did say that he will do it with the nightmare sets.

Yes, and it still won’t be ideal then but would be viable just as anything potentially is. The issue with Elgain’s touch is that getting hit stops mana regen completely for 3s, even the nightmare passive and you lose a large portion of your mana sometimes rendering you unable to cast skills. Though it could be viable, it will never be ideal to use even more so because it’s replacing a damaging ability for this utility on a dps class.

Couple months back, I saw a guy in Korea that had that gear set you mention and he was using elegian’s touch specifically for what you mention here and I also think raid captain, along with boosting swiftness so he was maxed out. He was playing some legion raid and he was dominating and his cooldowns were so damn fast.

Don’t listen to any of the maxroll parrots that will say as a sorc you don’t go swiftness or anything like that, especially with that set.

No one would say that. You most certainly do go swiftness on Reflux, just not Igniter…
There is an insane build on Youtube by a Kr player that uses Swiftness Reflux for a 0 cooldown build with nightmare set that rivals Igniter’s maximum dps potential. I think many players would probably try this when we are able to craft the set.

Elgian touch is used by “piano reflux” players BUT if he is going full swift he might not need the spell at all.

Would you mind sharing a link?

Sure, no reason not to. A Link to his Kr game profile on loawa for the build is in a reply to the top comment.

Most swiftness build can capitalize on Raid Captain in later game with support that constantly given out movement speed aura.
Do note that there is encounter where you’re constantly slowed down like Ice Turtle so, keep an alternative for those encounter.

I’m running 1450 swift/450 crit on my sorc and it feels great, don’t think i could give up the 140% speed bonus.
I’ve 0 issues with mana even with elegian’s touch up all the time.
MP efficiency egraving plus the mana recovery food keeps me going my mana levels low enough to proc the damage boost of efficiency, and keep elegian active, granted you don’t eat every hit possible.
Currently running reflux/precise dagger/mp efficiency and grudge, and getting quite a few share of mvp’s.
Also running the 7% crit cards, getting me up to about 45% crit base, plus the 25 extra crit from the argos set, at about 65% total if you keep it active.
