Who made the decision to launch the biggest update of the year with a new class and on top of it, merge the servers at the same time? Thats a really really bad decision even on paper. And then you dont merge NA servers, what gives the feeling EU is the test enviroment for NA. I mean you cant even adjust the server time for over half a year because you got rid off summer/winter time and just dont care what others do.
We lost an entire day. We cannot clear on day one and we lost a day to even clear clown first week. A few compensation items doesnt make up for the lost experience. And its not like this was by accident because giving the 16 hour downtime, you planned this. You could have released the raid and maybe even scouter on top off it but do the merges seperate and if EU and other regions are not second class, you could do it on a less busy day/time.
Treating half, if not more, of your customers that way just increases toxicity. I really feel treated like second class customer and feel they are happy to take our money but dont want our opinion. They could split the merges on different dates, so it doesnt take as long at once. Its like they took the worst option of them all.
I say it again: This was no mistakes happening, they planned it this way…
This is no quitting or anything, I will keep playing but I am sad with the different treating
Edit: If I am not mistaken, NA even got the compensation log in path for “our” merge
Tbh I prefer 1 big patch loosing a day instead of multiple smaller patches loosing multiple days. As long everything works fine again from tomorrow on I don’t care at all loosing 1 day. I am happy how they handled this.
This is actually a bad logic.
If they made smaller patches constantly, they wouldn’t even need as much as 4 hours to complete one, probably one or two instead. Additionally, if they simply changed the hour of the patch to just one or two hours earlier (for EU), no one would end up losing any playtime at all.
I feel like OP was a bit too doomsday-like, but he isn’t wrong.
Putting 3 different MAJOR updates in one (class release + raid + server merge) in a single patch says a lot about the inexperience of the people managing this. Not to mention the huge gap between content releases that made A LOT of players get bored of the game. Just doesn’t make sense at all.
Anyway… this to say, that if the update was broken apart into 3 or maybe 2 different chunks, but released separately, could probably prevent all these issues. Of course, I have no idea if there was any kind of technical limitation in the content builds and that’s why they had to do it this way, could be that, but still…
