Despite WoW being a sub game it can be B2P initially since you can use gold to purchase WoW Tokens and convert those into Battle net balance to purchase whatever expansion, games, and cosmetic in all of Blizz’s library.
I’ve long stopped playing WoW but I had been playing it for free ever since the Token got introduced.
well, that depends though. wow sub monthly is around $11 - $15.
for some people that buy crystalline aura like me, wow sub monthly is more or less the same with monthly crystalline aura (yes it can be purchased with crystalls, but can also be bought with real money directly, so we’re comparing the real money prices)
and if ark pass comes out, some people probably gonna purchased that too on top of their monthly crystalline aura.
so lost ark mothly for some people could end up twice the price of wow monthly sub.
Uh huh, implying buying stuff off the AH, or boosted services off players, didn’t exist prior to the Token…
Gold ain’t hard to make either in-game. Nothing “p2w” about it… unlike buying mats directly off the store in LA to further hone gear past daily limits.
In WoW you can buy entire, yes, entire Battlenet digital store for gold. Games, including Crash Bandicut, other Blizzard games, services, subs etc. All you need is to buy tokens from Auction House and convert it into 13 dollars/euro balance each. There is literally 0 things that you cannot buy for gold earned in the game.
Of course, on fresh account you need to buy Shadowlands and 1-2 months sub as starter pack but that’s all. Later you will easily earn gold for sub and additional services just by your main toon.
Im telling facts, you can pay to skip the whole leveling process, you win if you pay. you win the leveling race vs someone who started at the same time as you
Lmao, leveling, you meant tutorial? xD I will believe you if your boosted toon will get high mythic end gear but that toon will get crappy green gear ilvl 148. xD 148 means literally nothing. You will be one shotted in pvp. You must grind gear manually and you cannot speed up that proces with gold or real money. In pve also you must earn new gear because this 148 is not enough even for Korthia.
By your philosophy, every single game is p2w because whale can buy better PC and internet connection to win install, update, launch the game and character creation race to avoid server queues.
Crystalline Aura is a joke, compared to a proper subscription, though. All it does is saving you silver, and giving some 10% buffs for life skill/stronghold, plus convenience features via pet.
The true pain points like honing, daily/weekly limits or mat acquisition are not even addressed by it.
That is true, and most likely at least $10-$20 for that alone.
Also, there will be a $40 premium tier, but that one is rather cosmetic. (Will still cause outrage, though!).
