In a way, they did have no other choice. You can not have high chargeback rates and be used as a vehicle for fraud.
The system will likely improve with known “good” customers getting the gold instantly in the future.

Yeah having whales not only putting money into the game but getting the gold earlier than other people that might put $20 every 2 months will sure be a good idea.
