Wow, people will really complain about ANYTHING won’t they?

Truth is the OP could voice his issue in a better way but all in all he is correct, why isn’t the local time displayed in game like in every MMORPG since 2000 but instead another timezone +1 is displayed, this is ridiculous and cheap/lazy as it goes.

Sorry but i dont get the point. UTC is the Standart Time and its easy to know the difference to your specific country. UTC makes thinks like Summertime/Wintertime a lot more easy because its the same all year and in all Countrys over the world

I am in the UK on EU Central and I see “CET”. I would also like to see GMT or UTC please. CET is +1 from my actual Time / Zone.

I mean you dont listen to feedback , or if you do, it goes to nothing anyway . Can’t blame people for get frustrated with AGS and voicing it the only way we have.

People been telling you all week, in fact, even before while in beta and f2p. Look where we are still.

Remember, SmilegateRPG are the game creators. Amazon has the License - They dont develop the game afaik.

UTC is pretty standard even in the UK actually. Infact our UK business always deals with UTC and im used to saying UTC myself. I currently play on EU Central and I see CET which is +1 which is annoying however. But I would like to see UTC / GMT as a Client Option if possible really. It does mess me up and has already made me late/early for something a few times as I kept thinking it was my Time.

So he is certainly over reacting. It is the same as GMT. Infact UTC was basically built on GMT… I think the true issue is those on EU Central who are actually playing in UTC but are seeing CET

Just let us change the displayed time by either in-game options or by clicking on the time UI. That should not be a lot of development (unreal is not that complicated)

EUROPE TIME ZONES

Most of Europe uses three standard time zones. From west to east the time zones are Western European Time (WET) which is UTC/GMT +0, Central European Time (CET) which is UTC/GMT+1 and Eastern European Time (EET) which is UTC/GMT +2. Western European Standard Time is the same as Greenwich Mean Time (GMT), however, during periods when Daylight Saving Time is in use, Western European Summer Time is one hour ahead of Greenwich Mean Time.

In Europe Daylight Saving Time is commonly referred to as Summer Time. Summer Time begins at 1:00 a.m. UTC/GMT on the last Sunday in March. On the last Sunday in October areas on Summer Time (Daylight Saving Time) return to Standard Time at 1:00 am UTC/GMT. The names in each time zone change along with Summer Time. Western European Standard Time (WET) becomes Western European Summer Time (WEST), Central European Time (CET) becomes Central European Summer Time (CEST) and Eastern European Time (EET) becomes Eastern European Summer Time (EEST). Throughout the United Kingdom in the countries of England, Northern Ireland, Scotland and Wales, Summer Time is referred to as British Summer Time (BST). Iceland and portions of Greenland do not observe daylight saving time. In addition, some local communities in Europe may not follow the official time zone rules.

It makes sense that Central European Time is used on server named Central Europe.

You should ask someone at school what UTC even means before pretending to be a cool grownup and writing angry posts.

Sure, that does make sense. It would make even more sense to allow people who are in Europe who play on a European server to pick the Time that would be displayed by default. Especially when they do a Western Launch and did not offer EU West etc.

It does not make sense for many people in UTC+0 to be seeing CET. But they had no other option. So…I understand what you are saying and its valid, but unfortunately its really not that simple either.

Lel, UTC is standard. It just doesnt change with daylight savings unlike the rest. so it is your base time. Think of it as a better GMT lol.

Dont get me wrong, i think the ability to change how the timezone is shown would be cool given that im in the UK and obv the servers run on CET. But played WoW for X years so used to being an hour behind server times realistaclly.

They got so many other issues and you’re sitting here complaining about the smallest thing

You are crying for no real reason.
I live in Northern Europe. i dont need my ego and nationalism stroked to feel better with a server named after my geographical location

And i dont have issues to add +1 hour when i look at CET time

Also UTC is industry standard, and quite useful in life. GMT is a bad time standard do to daylight time swapping

Or just understand that people are frustrated, by a game that has over promised and under delivered. (AGS not Smile Gate)

The game is insane, so much fun, not had this much fun for years… but damn… the servers in EU are a total mess. We feel left out, cut out from the scene. Its painful.

Crying? Dude are you even reading what I’ve said? I disagree with what OP said and I said UTC being used would be fine…

I simply want the clock to say UTC not CET since im in the UK. Why are you making this a drama?

I also mentioned UTC is normal in the UK, are you even reading what I’ve said in this post which was not even created by me or simply just responding to argue and berate?

OP is CRYING about UTC being in his EU West Server. Actually CRYING about UTC and its his actual time…

I am simply saying UTC being displayed would be preferred for people in UK when playing on Central Europe (Which was the only server option at Launch, by the way).

How about you first learn what UTC means?
And then do a simple Google search to see how many time zones are in EU?

This is one of the most stupid posts in these 2 weeks. Congratulations!

You mis-typed GMT there, though…
my timezone isn’t UTC+1, it’s GMT+2
Among the plethora of issues the game has, though, this is indeed the most pedantic of possible issues, and not even worth bringing up. - If anything it’s useful to know that the announcements are all made in accordance to the ingame time, and makes it easy in that regard.
